Wellness is leading to stressness.

I know it’s a made-up word, but it captures something I’ve been noticing.

More and more people are trying really hard to be well.

We’re reading the books.
Listening to the podcasts.
Following the experts.
Buying the supplements.
Tracking the sleep.
Optimising the morning routine.

Yet many of us seem more overwhelmed than ever.

Somewhere along the way, wellbeing became another thing to achieve.
Another thing to improve.
Another thing to get right.

I’m not saying wellbeing practices don’t help. Many of them do.
I’m simply wondering what happens when the pursuit of wellness starts to create pressure rather than ease.

When rest becomes something we have to earn.

When self-care becomes another task on the to-do list.

When wellbeing feels less like support and more like work.

Maybe the answer isn’t always another practice.

Maybe sometimes it’s permission to stop trying so hard.

What do you think?

We’ve become experts at listening to everyone except our own bodies.

I see it all the time.

People arrive at class convinced they need to fix something.

Their body.
Their flexibility.
Their fitness.
Their mindset.

Yet what I often see is something very different.

I see people who have spent years ignoring what their body has been trying to tell them.

They’re tired, but they keep pushing.
They’re stressed, but they keep going.
They need rest, but they feel guilty taking it.

We’ve become so used to looking outside ourselves for answers that we’ve forgotten how much wisdom lives within us.

Our bodies are communicating with us all the time.

The question is, are we listening?

What if your body isn’t something to battle with, control or constantly improve?

What if it’s your greatest teacher?

What if the problem isn’t that we’ve stopped looking after ourselves?

What if we’ve simply stopped listening?

Perhaps we don’t need fixing.
Perhaps we need remembering.

What is your body trying to tell you today?

On Sunday I had the pleasure of teaching a Body Positive Yoga session for the BPOC Yoga Club community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the team for creating such a welcoming space.

One of the things I love most about this work is seeing people realise that yoga really can be for them. You don't need to be flexible, look a certain way or have years of experience. Yoga meets you exactly as you are.

I was also blown away by these kind words from the team:

"Donna is a true thought leader in yoga and it was so special to hear about her journey and experience her practice."

Thank you for having me. It was such a joy to be part of it.

I’ve been home from The Big Retreat Festival for a little while now, and I’m still reflecting on what made it so special.

Yes, I had the privilege of sharing a talk and leading yoga sessions.
But what stays with me most are the people.

The conversations between sessions.
The stories people shared.
The laughter.
The hugs.
The moments of connection.

One person told me they had attended several festivals over the years but had never tried a yoga class before. They came along to one of my sessions and discovered that yoga really can be for everyBODY.
Moments like that remind me why I do this work.

Not to help people become someone else.

Not to help people fix themselves.
But to help people remember that they were never broken in the first place.

One of the unexpected gifts of the weekend was reconnecting with Sarah, who I first met years ago at a body-positive swimwear shoot.

Sometimes life has a beautiful way of bringing people back together when the time is right.

Thank you to everyone who came to a class, attended my talk, stopped for a chat, shared a story, or simply said hello.

And thank you to for creating a space where people can come together, connect, and be themselves.

My heart is full. ❤️

One of the unexpected gifts of was reconnecting with Sarah.

We first met at a body positive swimwear shoot in Bristol back in 2018. At the time, neither of us could have known our paths would cross again years later.

When Sarah saw that I was teaching at The Festivslshe reached out. Not only did she come along to my classes, but I also spent my final night staying at her beautiful farm.

It reminded me that sometimes the most meaningful part of saying yes to an opportunity isn’t the event itself. It’s the people you meet along the way, and the connections that stay with you long after.

Thank you, Sarah, for your kindness, your hospitality, and for picking up our friendship as though no time had passed.

And thank you to Sarah Williams for the lovely BBQ and warm welcome.

Life has a funny way of bringing people back together when the time is right. ❤️

This Sunday I’ll be teaching at Mission Studio in Shoreditch with Pana for their BPOC Yoga Club.

I’ll be guiding a Body Positive Yan Yin Flow rooted in accessibility, rest, breath, and compassionate movement.

So much of wellness culture still centres performance, aesthetics, and “doing more.” The work I’m interested in is helping people reconnect with themselves in ways that feel supportive, sustainable, and human.

Creating spaces where people feel welcome in their bodies matters.

Especially in practices like yoga, where so many people still feel they have to look a certain way, move a certain way, or already “fit” the culture before they walk through the door.

This practice is a reminder that wellbeing does not have to be earned through pressure or perfection.
Yoga is for everyBODY.

The Noble Retreat is returning

17th–24th July 2026
Finca Indigo, Spain

Limited spaces available.

This retreat is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and spend a week surrounded by movement, rest, laughter, nourishing food, beautiful surroundings, and community.

Including Aqua Yoga, restorative practices, movement, rest, and time to slow down enough to reconnect with your own body intelligence again.

What I loved most about our previous retreat was how welcoming and supportive the space became.
Some people arrived nervous.
Some had never been on a retreat before.

Some thought yoga “wasn’t for them”.
And yet by the end of the week, people were relaxing more deeply, trying new things, laughing more, connecting with others, and reconnecting with themselves in ways they didn’t expect.

One guest shared:
“As someone who has bad knees and does very little exercise, let alone yoga, I was very unsure about how I would manage a yoga retreat… however, it was lovely to be surrounded by a group of fantastic people who encouraged and made me feel that all things were possible.”

That is what this retreat is really about.

Not perfection.
Not needing to look or move a certain way.

Just space to breathe, rest, move, connect, and arrive exactly as you are ❤️
