I caught the beauty bug early on and at the age of 8 I was given a head and shoulders doll which I would do up daily, that was the moment when I fell in love with beauty. After leaving school, I achieved top marks in City and Guilds Bea
uty Therapy from the Yorkshire Coast College, but after trying to find work as a beauty therapist, I was to find that the beauty sector wasn’t quite ready for my visionary approach just yet! Years later and after alternative career paths, I saw my friends’ new full set of faux lashes. I was bowled over with my friends’ new look and I guess you could say that this was my eureka moment! If there was such a growing demand for this new trend, why couldn’t I be the one to trailblaze it? I transformed my home into a makeshift beauty salon and made a name for myself EyelashesbyKaren as the go-to lash professional in Yorkshire. Things happened pretty quickly from then. After completing all of the training available in this country, in 2013 I found a lash university in the Ukraine who could teach me a new breed of highly intricate lash design called Russian Volume and became one of the first artists to bring it back to the UK.
2016 would see me out in Sweden where I further developed my knowledge of lash design with Russian lash expert Nataliya Morozova. That year, I became a certified trainer for Black Lashes Pro and contributor to their official manual, a career highlight for me. I am delighted to have become a peer in my industry and expert in the world of lashes. I love being asked to judge regularly for the Swedish Lash Masters and the Lash Games which are held in London annually. Outgrowing my home salon I decided to take the leap of faith and open my own salon. I had a vision of a new style clinic feel providing the most up to date services within a calm and tranquil environment where everyone is welcome and felt at ease with added pure relaxation. 2018 saw this vision come to life and I found the perfect beauty spot up above the high street on a second floor on St Michael Street in my hometown of Malton, winning 4 awards in 2020 along the way. In this ever changing industry Pro Level Beauty has now grown in team size and always kept ahead of the times evolving immensely over the last 3 years bringing with it two new state of the art Laser Machines offering the best in the industry hair removal, skin rejuvenation and tattoo removal. Along with all beauty treatments, Permanent Makeup Brows and Nimue Skin Care is also available thus creating Pro Level Beauty & Laser Clinic. When I’m not doing what I love most, you’ll find me on the golf course or holidaying in Goa with a cold beer in hand!
