Good afternoon to you all , last Thursday was spent in a wood in the Gloucestershire countryside running the Level Three Emergency First Aid and Level Three Forestry First Aid course for my mate Ned and his team of arborists.

Six years we have been running the courses for them in a fantastic location in his wood, which as you can see by the photos it's a great set up.

" If it ain't raining it ain't training" is an old Army expression, not only did the heavens open up but a thunderstorm ⛈️ started rolling in, luckily tarpaulin protected us from the rain and the thunder and lightning ⚡ avoided us. A great quote from one of the course was " Thor is angry" !!!lol 🤣

This is why I love working with the tree surgery industry, the sense of humour and professionalism. We cannot just treat casualties in the " classroom environment" we have to " improve, adapt and overcome" and treat a casualty in any situation, environment and weather, that's why the courses we run are based on real life scenarios our delegates may come across.

A big thanks to Ned once again for getting us in to do their training and their hospitality, can't beat a cup of tea made in the traditional way over a 🔥 well done chaps on passing the course, see you in three years.

Good afternoon to you all, last week was a busy one with a trip to South Shields to run the level Three Emergency First Aid and Level Three Forestry First Aid courses for Glendale Services .

First time up here training up the teams so was great to meet everyone, the course was run over two days which included exercises up the trees in the local area giving the arborists realistic scenarios they may have to deal with.

Everyone passed with flying colours and a big thanks to Henry for not only getting us in to do the training.

Good morning to you all, it was good to return to the Donnington Depot of idverde Arb Department to take their tree surgeons through their Level Three Emergency First Aid and Level Three Forestry First Aid course.

It was three years since I was last here so it was good to catch up with the lads who had done the course then and meet the new arborists on the team.

Once again saw some great first aid skills which they will need if anything goes wrong in their job.

They were given realistic scenarios to deal with and asked on the spot questions whilst dealing with a potential medical emergency. When you are dealing with a medical emergency in real life you are under stress and pressure, that's why training has to be done under pressure so when it comes to a real life emergency training they have had " kicks in".

Over the two groups of courses we saw team work, great first aid skills, assertiveness, confidence in what they did, well done to all on passing the course with flying colours.
