This brings us to three local teams supported in the past 12 months, alongside our ongoing partnership with Wakefield Trinity Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation.

We’re incredibly proud to name Mel as our Employee of the Month, nominated for her quick, life‑saving actions at Normanton.👏

During lunch, a colleague began choking and couldn’t breathe. Initial help sadly couldn’t dislodge the blockage. Without hesitation, Mel stepped forward, stayed calm, and confidently performed the Heimlich manoeuvre. After several attempts, she successfully cleared the obstruction and literally saved a life that day.

Special recognition also goes to the whole team who acted instantly and pulled together brilliantly. Thankfully, this story has the happiest of endings.
