šŸ’Š For those not on HRT - has anyone tried SĆ©rĆ©lys MENO?

I came across this one and thought it was worth sharing with the group!

SĆ©rĆ©lys MENO is a hormone-free supplement available at Holland & Barrett, designed specifically for women in perimenopause and menopause. Here’s what caught my attention:

āœ… 100% non-hormonal - no phytoestrogens (no soy, flax, black cohosh, hops or sage)

āœ… This includes no hormonal activity at all - making it potentially suitable for those who have had or are at risk of breast cancer and can’t take HRT (always check with your oncologist or GP first)

āœ… Contains PureCyTonin - a purified cytoplasmic pollen extract (don’t worry, it’s allergen-free - very different from the pollen that triggers hay fever!)

āœ… Also contains Vitamin E

āœ… Aimed at reducing hot flushes, night sweats, fatigue and irritability

āœ… Just one capsule a day - morning or evening

āœ… Recommended for at least 2 months for best results

āš ļø A few things to note:

• If you have a known pollen allergy, check with your GP or pharmacist first

• It’s a food supplement, not a medicine, so results can vary

• If you’ve had breast cancer, please speak to your oncologist before trying any new supplement

• It’s not a replacement for medical advice, if you’re struggling, always worth a chat with your GP

This could be worth exploring if HRT isn’t right for you or you’re waiting for an appointment. Has anyone in the group tried it? I’d love to hear your experiences šŸ‘‡šŸ»

Yesterday was a big one āš”ļø

I facilitated my very first leadership away day as Enlighten & Lead, and I couldn’t have asked for a better start.

I spent the day with the fantastic frontline managers and supervisors of Citizens Advice South Warwickshire and Bedworth, Rugby and Nuneaton for their County Management Away Day - a full day of honest conversation, real reflection and practical thinking. No death by PowerPoint. No theory for theory’s sake. Just brilliant people, doing the work.

The room was engaged from the start. Real conversations. Genuine honesty. People reflecting on what it truly means to lead with compassion, consistency and humanity - under real pressure.

The feedback was wonderful - participants described the day as interesting, enjoyable, positive, engaging, supportive, transparent, honest and safe. That means everything šŸ™ŒšŸ»

Every single person showed up with openness, got stuck in and made the day what it was. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and a real credit to Citizens Advice

A huge shoutout to Joanne Howes, Operations Manager, for investing in her people and arranging such a brilliant day. It makes all the difference when a leader truly backs their team.

It was also my first face-to-face facilitation in a long time - and a beautiful reminder of just how powerful a room full of people can be when there’s genuine trust in it.

More of this, pleasešŸ™ŒšŸ»

If you’re thinking about what your team’s next away day could look like, I’d love to chat.

šŸŽ‰ I am SO proud to be a training partner with Hormones on the blink and this is exactly why! šŸ™ŒšŸ»

Yesterday, the incredible Sophie Cartledge founder of Hormones on the BlinkĀ®-appeared on ITV News talking about the very real impact menopause is having on women at work. Anxiety, insomnia, brain fog, loss of confidence… symptoms that are causing women to walk away from careers they’ve worked so hard to build šŸ™‹šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ’”

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

With the right training and support, organisations can make a difference - and that’s exactly what Sophie and the Hormones on the BlinkĀ® team are out here doing every single day.

I’m so honoured to be part of that mission.

If you’re a business owner, manager, or HR professional wondering how to better support the women in your team -watch Sophie’s interview and then come and talk to mešŸ‘‡šŸ»

This story stopped me in my tracks this afternoon.

Carys Davies was 63 years old. An environmental health officer. A mum of three. Described by everyone who loved her as funny, warm, gregarious, someone with an infectious laugh.

She took her own life in May 2025, following a deterioration in her mental health during the menopause.

Her daughter Alys said something that I think every GP, every employer, every HR professional needs to hear:
ā€œIf you break your leg or have a heart attack, there are treatments in place. There are less obvious symptoms with your mental health but it should be treated in the same way, because it is an illness.ā€

With Mental Health Awareness Week (11–17 May) approaching, this year’s theme being Action..!! I keep thinking about how many women are in the same position Carys was. Either carrying it silently, or trying to speak up and being dismissed as ā€œthe menopausal woman who complains.ā€
Both of those outcomes are a failure. A systemic one.

Menopause is not just hot flushes. It can shatter mental health. It can make the familiar feel unbearable. And without the right support at home, in healthcare, and at work, women are navigating it completely alone.

In my work, mental health changes are the most common symptom women contact us about. Anxiety, low mood, rage, loss of identity. Women who don’t recognise themselves anymore. Women who are frightened by what’s happening to them. And yet still, so many are suffering in silence because they don’t know that menopause could be the cause.

Carys’s husband Paul is ran the London Marathon yesterday to raise money for The Menopause Charity. A man, running for the wife he lost. Let that land.

If you’re an employer, manager or HR professional reading this, please don’t wait for a tragedy to prompt the conversation.

The awareness sessions, the policies, the training, they exist. The will to act is what’s missing.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, let’s make every action count.

🩵25 years. Four generations. One incredible moment🩵

I’ve been a Sky Blues fan my whole life (by default šŸ˜‚)And this week, I finally got to feel what I always believed was possible.

I’ve watched this club take my dad, my brother, my nephew, my husband, my sons and now my grandsons on the most extraordinary rollercoaster.

The heartbreak of relegation in 2001.
The years in the wilderness.
Playing home games in Birmingham.
That Wembley final we don’t talk about😭

I even have my Junior Sky Blues certificate, signed by the legend that is Jimmy Hill, from the late 1970’s.

And last night? Every single moment of hurt was worth it.

But here’s what struck me as someone who works in leadership development every single day…

Resilience - This club fell to League Two in 2017. Played home games in another city. Lost a heartbreaking Wembley final. And kept going anyway. That’s not just football. That’s a lesson for every team, every workplace, every leader.

Determination - Mark Robins deserves enormous credit. He built the culture, the squad and the belief. Leadership isn’t always about lifting the trophy. Sometimes it’s about doing the hard work that makes someone else’s moment possible.

Teamwork - You don’t beat Portsmouth 5-1 to become champions on individual talent. You do it because everyone pulls in the same direction. Every. Single. One.

And then there’s Frank Lampard - Arriving mid-season, inheriting someone else’s foundations, and leading this group to the title with clarity, composure and complete belief in his people. That is elite leadership in action 🐐🩵

These are exactly the conversations I have with organisations through Enlighten and Lead.
āš”ļøHow do you build teams that don’t crumble under pressure?
āš”ļøHow do you lead through uncertainty?
āš”ļøHow do you create a culture where people give everything, even when it’s hard?

The Sky Blues just gave us the greatest masterclass I’ve ever seen🩵

To my dad, my brother, my nephew, my husband, my boys and my grandsons, they did it šŸ™ŒšŸ»This one’s for all of you 🩵

Women’s voices are finally being put at the heart of the UK’s health strategy……about time…!!

This week’s announcement is a step in the right direction, recognising that women’s health hasn’t always been listened to, understood, or prioritised.

But let’s bring this closer to home…

This isn’t just about healthcare.
It shows up every single day in our workplaces.

Menopause. Hormone conditions. Invisible symptoms.
Still misunderstood. Still not talked about enough. Still impacting people at work.

And here’s the bit we can’t ignore šŸ‘‡šŸ»
If we’re not creating workplaces where women feel heard, supported and understood…we’re part of the problem.

So a few questions for local businesses and leaders:

āž”ļø Would your managers know how to support someone experiencing menopause?
āž”ļø Are your policies actually lived, or just written?
āž”ļø Do your people feel safe to speak up?

Because awareness is great…but action is what changes lives.

Through Enlighten & Lead and Hormones on the blink I work with organisations to turn these conversations into practical support that actually makes a difference, not just tick-box training.

šŸ’¬ If this has got you thinking about your workplace, drop me a message or comment below.

Let’s make sure women’s voices aren’t just heard nationally… but right here in our workplaces too.

This is exactly why I created Enlighten & Lead ⚔

Because leadership development shouldn’t be expensive…and it definitely shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all.

I’m really pleased to be partnering with the Agile Group to support a fully funded leadership programme for people in Cheshire & Warrington.

āš”ļø100% funded for self-employed & unemployed
āš”ļøUp to 90% funded if you’re employed
āš”ļøILM recognised
āš”ļøNext cohort starts 2nd June

This isn’t about sitting through slides and ticking boxes.

It’s about real, practical leadership - building confidence, managing people better, and actually applying what you learn in your day-to-day role.

At Enlighten & Lead, I’m passionate about helping leaders understand the human side of leadership - and this programme is a great step in that journey.

If you’re local to Cheshire & Warrington (or know someone who is), this is such a good opportunity to take that next step without the usual cost barrier.

Rugby & Warwickshire businesses - šŸ’© just got real.

New government guidance on menopause action plans has been released… and it’s clear:

šŸ‘‰šŸ»Employers are expected to take real, measurable action - not just raise awareness.

This means local businesses need to start thinking about:
• How menopause is impacting your workforce (absence, retention, performance)
• What support actually looks like in your organisation
• Whether your managers feel confident handling conversations
• Who is accountable for making this happen

Because this isn’t just about large corporates.

From care homes to retail, offices to education - this is already affecting your teams across Rugby and Warwickshire.

And the expectation is shifting quickly.

So ask yourself:

šŸ‘‰šŸ»If someone in your team is struggling today, would your managers know what to do?
šŸ‘‰šŸ»Could you confidently say you’re taking reasonable, proactive steps?

If not - now is the time to act.

I work with businesses across Rugby and Warwickshire through Enlighten & Lead and Hormones on the blink to put practical menopause support in place without overcomplicating it.

If you know this needs attention in your organisation, message me. Let’s get this sorted.
