I'll tell you a story...
A group of high school students came to our campus. They were highly active, and extremely driven. I think they expected the usual crowd - a group of adults to lecture them, instead of mentors to lead them.
There is no shortage of money pouring into "youth sports programs" where the least athletic adults in the world cash in by beating the crap out healthy kids - and calling it character building.
What did they find instead?
One of our board members doing pull-ups in a weighted vest. He was training for a 100 mile mountain run.
The local school principal, barefoot with chalk on her hands, doing heavy deadlifts and plyometrics.
I was training for a 100 mile run track run at the time to raise money for our youth programs and banging out nasal breathing sprint intervals on our treadmill.
They stayed - and never left.
They came every day after school to lift weights, sauna, cold plunge, and - get this - help with every part of the business, from mopping the floors, to content creation, to cutting wood for the sauna.
Less than 22% of adults meet the minimum physical activity guidelines....
If you're wondering who is labeling kids with "hyperactivity" and putting them on amphetamines - it's them.
We are build a new breed of practitioner. Innovative, disruptive, community-centered, self-motivated, and driven as hell.
