Quite a few of my clients who come to Soulful Hair Dressing are Women who don't like going to the Hairdressers in the conventional sense.

These are women who have not had their hair cut in a long time.

Women who don't like the noisy environment and the way it is set out.

Women who want more presence, care and attention with them and with their hair.

I have had my hair every colour under the sun, endless shapes and styles and still found myself searching, as nothing truly resonated, no matter how much I enjoyed them, it was only fleeting, and the novelty would wear off, and I was left back to where I was. It was never right and it was never ok.

I started colouring my hair at 15, already at that age there was a fundamental belief that my hair and who I was, was not ok, that I needed to change and make myself appear different in every way to what and who I truly was.

Whilst there was a part who enjoyed the exploration, there was a deep seated grief, disconnect and abandonment, where I left my Self behind, and at that time, never wished to be seen or touched upon again.

What I came to realize from my Awakening and through Soulful Holistic Hair as it came in, was that who I naturally am, was never meant to fit into the constructs and conditioning of the world. Who I naturally am in my Self and Essence is not of this world, it belongs to the source of who I am, of consciousness and pure life intelligence.

It is beyond conditioning and the frequency of Essence within my Self is nothing like the Self Image and Identity that was created and taken on through my beliefs, experiences and separation from my Self.

Coming back to Essence with my Hair and in my Life has taken me on a journey into a completely different expression and relationship.

When I first came into this through the initial Re-Alignment, the gap between my natural Essence and Self Image and Identity was huge! It was like oh my goodness. This looks and feels nothing like me. But it did. The depth of resonance was so strong. My heart was in pure delight, despite my mind being a bit at odds. My heart was loving it and it healed straight through my mind, the level of self image and it transformed through a layer of Identity.

I was at peace, connected, at one with my hair and my essence. It was no longer separate. This didn't just impact my relationship with my hair, it impacted my whole life where I showed up differently, no longer hiding in the same way with everything in my life. It was deeply transformational and it stayed, it didn't fade, it just got stronger, more connected, more aligned, more honest, more true, more free, less attachment.

The attachments that were held around my hair have been integrated and it has become integrated with myself and is simply an appearance of this moment in time, that is aligned with the rest of my life, and the healing, transformation that is calling through my life right now, and the qualities that are blooming through that.
It's not separate to my life journey and my life expression. Its all the same, guided by the Mystery for the deepest healing and restoration, soul retrieval and embodiment of Essence.

Where ever you come from in your past with your hair, this journey will meet you, and bring you what you need to heal and restore, transform within your self, bring more joy and enjoyment and integrate within your whole being. To meet your Essence with your Hair and come into more of your natural vibrancy and true beauty, releasing attachments, finding greater liberation and freedom to be more deeply your Self in the true sense of your unique frequency within your self and In the world, but not of it!!

I don't remember a time when I was not fascinated or 'fanatical' about Hair. I don't remember beyond the point where I knew I was going work with hair. From holding a pair of scissors in my hand with my doll which a lot of young children do. But it was so clear. I was going to work behind the scenes on film. I was probably about 7 years years old. I did work behind the scenes on film, only not as a hairdresser but a wig maker.

I really started hairdressing when I was wig making in London and started that journey. I tried working in salons which I really didn't like. I disliked the environment and the time frames put on each appointment.

I did have a some months working part time at a salon in Cheltenham which was really lovely, and at the same time my heart hurt so much working with the clients. I'd come home in tears. There was nothing wrong with how I did their hair, I had very happy clients who used to write reviews on google, and my manager at the time said we have never had so many reviews, although there have been plenty of times where it didn't work out at all in this conventional way with peoples hair.

This deep knowing that the hair wasn't the right hair for someone. The pain in my heart was so strong and in the end I stopped hairdressing wondering what I was going to do because this wasn't working, and this certainly wasn't it!

I couldn't put language or translate language into creativity. It just didn't work for me. When I had my opening and I was called back into Hair and Soulful Hair started to come in. My whole body softened, my mind relaxed as my way came into Being. This was heart centered, universal communication that spoke the same language, and through inner sacred union where essence could bloom and expression was honest and authentic and the hair felt right and was aligned.

This was it! and it started with me and my own journey with it, my own healing and transformation and the flowering of essence within me, feeling right within me with my hair, after all my fanatical years.

It was quite a miracle what opened and bloomed through that.

I've written this blog post on 'Vanity' as it is a strong one when we are on the edge of the unknown and challenged to step in to the new both with our hair and in our life.

I can’t talk about Hair without talking about Vanity.

When it comes to our Hair and not just our hair, but our entire life we are going to come up against Vanity.

This isn’t bad or a bad thing, it’s just a frequency of existence that we are all in the experience of, like any frequency of existence like envy, anger, blame, doubt, shame… it is part of our human experience and the opportunity as consciousness to evolve, transform and come into deepening Love and Safety, and come into greater Creative and Soul capacity and potential along with deepening Well-Being, and come to see and understand the Force behind our life experiences that are truly just trying to support us out of survival mechanisms into thriving existence.

Vanity is always going to come up when we are faced with an edge into the unknown. When we are called to make a step into something new that we don’t know yet and don’t know what that is going to look like, and ultimately ‘How we are going to Look and Appear in the process’.

There can be a tendency not to move into the new because it can appear safer to stay with the familiar and how we see and know ourselves, and how we are seen and known by others. It is safer to hold onto the Image we have of ourselves and the image we want to portray about ourself, than to step into a space where we become more visible in a way that we haven’t yet met, and be seen in a way that doesn’t line up with how we have constructed our self-image, and how we want to be seen.

This is where the Self Image dies.

If we are truly devoted on our soul path, or truly devoted to our Hearts, we are always going to be willing to be seen in ways that may not be, and sometimes most certainly won’t be, our best, while we are learning and growing. This is where radical self-love, self-acceptance and self-appreciation, self-worth, self-value and all these beautiful qualities can really come into bloom.

Vanity occurs when we are unwilling to take the step because the self-image preservation is stronger than the power, or the love we hold within to take that step and be willing to allow our Self Image to be destroyed...

Your Natural Hair Texture

Hair can be a really sensitive subject, because no matter who we are, we ALL have a very personal relationship with our hair.

Even those who say they don't care about there hair, they are not bothered about their hair or what it looks like, to those who say they love their hair.

Within it all lies a very deeply personal relationship that can be influenced by past trauma, bullying, previous hair cutting experiences, self image challenges, identity rooting, fear and holding, and protection as just a few.

When it comes to really facing this relationship and coming face to face with what is really here, then, we are really now creating an opportunity for change, transformation and healing, along with opening the portal to greater freedom, liberation and authenticity.
We can now access something deeper that is more aligned, more true, and an honest creative reflection of unique essence and originality.

Hair has always been connected with Identity. It is part of the divine intelligence and when it is given back to True Identity, pure shakti shines and lights up and illuminates so brightly.

I have had clients come to me from witnessing women they know come into so much more brightness after coming for there sessions. This is why. When we are TRUE everything lights up. Light shines.

Because our hair is so tied up with appearance, beauty, attractiveness and sexuality, it can be hard for a lot of women to let go into something new, because it challenges the conditioning that lies so deeply in the psyche. Which is why so much care is taken when meeting this relationship because of its depth and the threads that weave through so many aspects related with the hair.

I work with a lot of women who won't go to the hairdressers.

a) because they are afraid of coming out with something they don't want.
b) knowing there hair is sacred and not wanting to go into the traditional environment
c) knowing there is something wanting to happen with their hair but unsure what, unable to put language to it and afraid of not being met fully in it
d) holding onto their old identity

In my heart ❤ in my experience ❤ this relationship is so key and important so that it is included in the whole and part of everything.
A lot of the time it is missing from women's inner relationship as part of 'wholeness' with the Body, Being and Soul. Like something separate like it's always been treated.

But it doesn't have to be, it can be included into the whole to develop a healthy and happy relationship, and given back to Essence, where true expression shines.

One things that is very clear to me is how deeply engrained ancestral coding and life conditioning is in the psyche and programming that fuels all of life in a particular way to maintain the self image and identity. I see it in myself and my own journey, my clients and the people around me.

Its so deep.

It takes a lot of breaking down in those old structures and being in a pure creative space to allow something so new to come into shape, into form that not only liberates the past but also opens a brand new possibility that never imagined possible because it is the other side of limitation and through the threshold of the unknown.
