September is fast approaching…. šŸ’Ø

Back to school is looming….. šŸ“–

But is this a good thing or has the anxiety already started to creep in? 😬

For many children they really want to go to school but sometimes they can’t….
It feels too overwhelming
Too pressured
It may even make them feel ill…
It can impact on the weekend, or end of the school holidays as the anxiety kicks in

We will have spaces available from September to help support your child. To look underneath these feelings and find ways to better understand and manage why.

We will find coping skills and strategies to build a buffer to help them develop resilience and courage to get over this hurdle so they can feel confident to walk through those school gates…..

As we open the alternative provision we will be dedicating Mondays for EBSA as this is often the hardest day of the week.

If your child needs our support or your child’s school would benefit from our services then drop me a message to book in a discovery call

At last it’s cooler….. šŸ˜…

The perfect time to get outside in the fresh air?

I am so lucky to have such beautiful nature on my doorstep. It’s instantly calming for my nervous system. It encourages you to breathe a little deeper, to sigh away the stress and become present in the moment.

Perfect to improve your wellbeing.

How does being in nature help you?
Do you notice a sense of peace too?

Here at Caspian Wood we have our beautiful glamping site that you can stay a few days to relax and unwind….. get the kids off screens and playing properly…… whilst you leave the busy world behind you for a few days and restore.

We have Tai Chi this Sunday 10.30-12 if you fancy a touch of mindful movement and forest bathing????

A great end to the week.

Or perhaps you need a short stay? Pop and have a look at Caspian Wood Lakeside Glamping there are a few spare days available

Or do you feel called to have a session with one of our therapy ponies? They are the best to help you regulate your nervous system and bring balance to your soul.

How ever you need to improve your wellbeing.
We have something beautiful to offer you

Just drop us a message

I was going to do a Fun Fact post today.

But given the extent of Wildfires around locally I have changed this to:

šŸ”„ FIRE šŸ”„

Yes this will be impacting many peoples mental health even if they are not directly involved.

This is because it’s scary out there at the moment.

Our brain has its own internal alarm bell called the Amygdala. It’s there to alert us to danger and keep us safe.

With the worrying reports online and on the news this will be activating your Amygdala.
Because yes fires are scary and the huge scale around us is worrying.

So what can we do?

To help our brain feel more in control - like we are doing something useful. We can

1. Think how you can Prevent Fire from happening. This can be to you personally and externally- environmentally

Please sit down and talk to your children
The more information we can spread to decrease the risk the better at this time and it may just save someone’s life one day too

2. Prepare - what can you do to be prepared should the worst happen?
Have you got fire extinguishers in the house?
Buckets of water outside as precaution?
A fire escape ladder in your upstairs area to be able to get out if you are trapped upstairs?
It’s not something we want to think about but better now and not ever need it than be caught in an emergency.

Have a fire safety plan and discuss this with your children too. How to call the emergency services. How important it is not to Hoax call

3. Stay Safe everyone

This week we have heard of fields alight close to an animal sanctuary and that has concerned me for the animals safety and if they have a way to move the animals swiftly to safety and where?

A Question I have been asking myself?
What would I do?
We have 8 horses, 10 sheep, 20 chickens, 3 ducks, a rabbit and 4 cats to move…..
How on earth would I do this in an emergency and where would we go?????

I pray I never have to find out. šŸ™

But if any of you need assistance in the coming weeks. I have a horsebox I can transport 2 horses at a time and I will help take in anyone’s animals should they need a safe space.

If nothing else this weekend. Please stop and think.

No bonfires šŸ”„
No BBQs
No cigarette butts in bins or tossed out of car windows
No litter dropping

Please no Fireworks! šŸŽ†

Common Sense required
Our emergency services must be exhausted battling these fires in this heat. They really don’t need anymore!

šŸ˜† Laughter is good for your Wellbeing

But How is that???

It stimulates the Vagus Nerve which runs through your vocal cords.

So laughing, singing or humming helps to regulate your nervous system and bring about calm and balance……

It activates the parasympathetic nervous system reducing the heart rate & stress, lowering cortisol levels and shifting your body from the fight ā€˜n’ flight system

You may also like to try gurgling and even better use ice cold water too!
A great nervous system reset for the midweek

What brings you joy and laughter?
Who can make us laugh?šŸ˜‚
