Progestogens are a vital part of HRT for anyone with a uterus (or a history of endometriosis) - They protect the womb lining when you're taking oestrogen.

But with so many options now available, it’s no longer just a case of “one-size-fits-all.”

The landscape is growing and evolving, with newer choices like Nalvee® and Slynd® alongside trusted options like Utrogestan® and Mirena®.

🔑 The key?
Looking at the whole picture - your symptoms, history, preferences, risks, and priorities - and making an informed choice that fits you best.

Whether your priority is:
✨ better sleep
✨ lighter bleeding
✨ skin support
✨ mood stability
✨ contraception
..we can tailor the HRT to fit.

🤍 Understanding your whole story helps guide us to the right option. You're not meant to fit the treatment - the treatment should fit you.

Could you be peri-menopausal? 🤔

Most of the patients we see in our clinics present with some of these symptoms, and whilst this is not an exhaustive list, these are the most common.

You may not realise at first, symptoms can just creep up on you, you may have lots of other things going on and those around you may notice before you do.

Everyone is different. Advice and treatment needs to be individual for each patient.

If this sounds familiar, ask to speak to the GP at your surgery who specialises in women's health. Alternatively we are always happy to help. If you would like to book an appointment to see one of our Menopause Specialists, please see the link in our bio.

The psychological symptoms of the menopause are often the scariest. They seem to smash through all the different areas of our lives.

The fluctuations in our hormones during the perimenopause can result in us feeling fine one week and horrific the next, so these emotional changes can be difficult to anticipate.

It can affect our sleep, appetite and overall wellbeing; lead to the breakdown of relationships with partners, family, friends and colleagues; reduce our ability to do our jobs effectively; and we can become socially withdrawn, leading to increased feelings of anxiety and isolation.

So what can we do?

🌸 Talk to family/friends/colleagues - gain their understanding and support
🌸 Keep a mood diary - see if there's a pattern so you know what to expect when.
🌸 CBT - coping strategies
🌸 Mindfulness
🌸 Good nutrition
🌸 Regular exercise/movement
🌸 HRT

Remember you are not alone. Please ask for help if you need it.

4 cities. 2 days. One consistent theme - The women’s health gap is still very real.

We have spent the last 48 hours speaking across Europe — educating both women and men on women’s health, hormones, and the very real impact this has on work, wellbeing and long-term health.

What stood out most wasn’t just the engagement — it was the depth of curiosity in the room.

We covered the full landscape of women’s health — not just menopause, but:

* Menstruation and Cycle Literacy
* Fertility and Reproductive Health
* Polycystic O***y Syndrome
* Endometriosis
* Menopause
* And the longer-term risks we often don’t talk about enough — including Cardiovascular Disease, Dementia and Frailty

But most importantly, we spent time translating the science of women’s health into something women can actually use — to look after themselves and those around them.

Not abstract.
Not overwhelming.
But clear, actionable steps that influence health, energy, and long-term outcomes.

Because here’s the reality:

👉 Across Europe, only ~10–15% of women are using HRT — despite the majority experiencing symptoms
👉 In some regions, uptake is

It's not just about how long we live - it's about living with vitality, strength, and happiness. ❤️

Future proof your health now.

🔍 Evaluate Your Risk Factors:
- take a close look at your current health conditions, family history, and risk factors for diseases like heart disease and stroke.

💪 Assess What Matters for Your Quality of Life:
- Physical: How is your fitness, mobility, and pain management? Regular exercise can keep you agile and strong.
- Mental: Are you staying sharp? Prioritise mental agility, memory, and stress management to stay mentally healthy.
- Emotional: How are your relationships and psychological well-being? A positive outlook and strong connections can enhance your life.

🛠️ Make Simple, Powerful Changes NOW:
- Small lifestyle changes, like quitting smoking, managing stress, and being physically active, can add years to your life while improving the quality of those years.
- Exercise, a balanced diet, and regular health check-ups target both long life and high-quality living. Why not get both?

Whether you're in your 30s, 40s, or beyond, it’s never too early (or late!) to take charge of your future health. 👊

Book your well-being appointment today and create a roadmap to thriving, not just surviving, for years to come.

Testosterone and where it fits in to HRT...

Firstly, it's important to get the Oestrogen levels right before thinking about testosterone.

Today, Dr Sam and Dr Sally are in Warsaw to deliver the next phase of bespoke Women's Health corporate workshops.

Across the sessions they will explore:

👉 Why the health gap exists and why women spend more years in ill health than in good health.

👉 How organisations can challenge bias, normalise conversations, and build cultures where women feel seen, supported and safe.

👉 The realities of women's health issues, perimenopause, hormonal changes and their impact on confidence, performance and wellbeing.

👉 The power of male allies.

When workplaces invest in understanding women’s health, everything improves - wellbeing, performance, culture and retention. 💡

Is your organisation ready to elevate women’s health and create meaningful change? We’d love to work with you.

March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

Early detection is really important but the symptoms are very non-specific, so knowing what to look out for and getting it checked out, can be life-saving.
