DM me Quiz or follow link in bio to see where you are on the body image scale

1. Your first thoughts in the morning are about your day — not how your body feels.
You wake up thinking about what you’re going to do, who you’re going to see and what you’re looking forward to, rather than immediately checking, assessing or worrying about your body.
2. You can walk past a mirror without checking.
No turning sideways. No lifting your top. No checking from different angles. You just walk past.
3. You look forward to holidays instead of worrying about what you’ll wear.
You’re more excited about the sunshine, the food, the people and the experiences than worrying about being too hot because you refuse to wear shorts or a T-shirt.
4. You can sit in a café and eat cake with a friend without thinking everyone is judging you.
You realise that most people are far too busy living their own lives to be analysing what you’re eating or what your body looks like.
5. You start to realise that your body isn’t the problem — your confidence needs some work.
And that’s actually really empowering. Because confidence can be built without changing your body. -nervosa

10 signs you might be struggling with your body image

Body image concerns aren’t always about saying “I hate my body.”

Sometimes they show up in the things you do to try to hide, check or change the way you look.

Here are 10 signs to look out for:

1. Pulling your chin up or back to change how your jawline looks.
2. Using mirrors as clothes hangers because you don’t want to look at yourself.
3. Body checking or pinching your stomach while you’re out socialising.
4. Dressing to completely cover your body.
5. Hiding your face or chin inside jumpers or high necklines.
6. Hiding your stomach behind a cushion when you’re sitting down.
7. Avoiding holidays abroad because you don’t want to wear summer clothes.
8. Constantly pulling your face back or changing your expression when you’re around other people.
9. Avoiding photos, or checking and retaking them repeatedly.
10. Choosing what you eat, where you sit or what you do based on how you think your body looks.

If you recognise yourself in some of these behaviours, it could be a sign that body image is having more of an impact on your life than you realise.

Want to find out where you sit on the body image scale?

DM me QUIZ and I’ll send you the link to take the quiz, or go to the link in my bio, and find out where you currently sit and get some practical tips to help improve your body image.

Holidays are not a time to become over concerned about what you eat for your health or your body. It's much more important to focus on fun, connection and making memories. .

.....and I am sure I missed plenty.

Let's stop using food to describe our bodies in a negative way.
Otherwise we are preaching and therefore teaching a negative relationship with food and a poor body image in one.

You don't have to accept a low opinion of your body. Your confidence in your body can change, even without the physical changes you may believe you need. Comment QUIZ and I will email the link for you to assess your body image. .

One thing that eating disorders does is create shame, guilt and isolation.

These estimates indicate how common people's struggles with their relationship with food is, and if we can reduce the shame then maybe more people will seek help. If you are someone struggling - you don't have to struggle in silence.
