Chlamydia is the most common STI in the UK, especially among young people.

Although most people don’t have any symptoms, chlamydia can cause pain or a burning feeling when you p*e. Women may experience an increase or change in vaginal discharge, pain in the lower tummy, pain during s*x or bleeding after s*x or between periods. In men it can cause discharge from the tip of their p***s and/ or pain or tenderness in the testicles.

Myth: “If I Miss One Pill, I’ll Definitely Get Pregnant”

‼️ Fact ‼️ Missing one pill doesn’t automatically mean you’ll get pregnant, but it’s important to know what to do next. If you miss a progestogen-only pill, take it as soon as you remember and continue with the next one at your usual time and then use condoms for the next 2 days, just to be on the safe side. In most cases, this will keep your protection intact. If you miss more than one pill or are unsure what to do, check the instructions on your pill pack or speak to a healthcare professional for advice.

Myth: “The Implant Is Painful and Unsafe”

‼️ Fact ‼️ While everyone’s experience is different, most people report only mild discomfort when getting an implant inserted. Coil insertion can be mild to moderate but local anaesthetics are administered to make the process more comfortable. The procedure is quick, and once it’s in place, it provides highly effective, long-term protection. Both methods are safe and have a very low risk of complications.
