I’ve been an audiologist for over 20 years, it’s not often things come along that excite me!
Today I was in London learning more about the new Phonak Eon. Although I didn’t know its name, and couldn’t talk about til now, it’s a hearing aid I was introduced to in Switzerland earlier this year.
The two things that annoyed me about Sphere and Sphere Ultra, have been fixed! Firstly, the size. The original Sphere was a pretty hefty hearing aid by private standards. The new Eon Sphere is the same size as the non-sphere version. Smaller and lighter, a much neater hearing aid.
Secondly, the battery life for some users was a bit on the short side. Also fixed…Eon now has up to 38 hours use from a single charge!
A third bonus for me, and the feature that impressed me most in Switzerland is the new wind block. Seriously impressive wind noise reduction. A real game changer for anyone that spends any time outdoors.
