This is the power of strategically placed filler ✨️

This patient wasn't after a new face. She wanted hers back, the one that existed before volume loss started pulling everything down and in. With age, we lose fat and bone in specific areas of the face, the cheeks flatten, the temples hollow, support around the jaw and mid-face weakens, and everything above starts to look heavier and more tired as a result.

Your moisturiser (or most other skincare products, for that matter) won’t effectively rebuild your collagen.

Yes, it’s doing something useful. A good moisturiser hydrates, supports the skin barrier and keeps skin comfortable. All of that matters. What it cannot do is address the structural changes happening beneath the surface as collagen and elastin production slows over time.

And this is where the skincare industry gets a little creative with its language. Collagen creams, collagen supplements, jade rollers, gua sha. All marketed with varying degrees of confidence.

The actual clinical picture is quite different. Collagen molecules are too large to pe*****te the skin barrier. Most supplements don't have robust evidence behind them for skin specifically. And facial tools improve circulation and feel good, but they don't create a meaningful collagen response in the dermis.

What actually does? A retinoid used consistently, which is the most evidence-backed topical ingredient we have. Laser, which stimulates collagen in the deeper layers of the skin. Medical microneedling, which triggers the skin's own repair process. And biostimulation treatments, which reactivate collagen production from within over time.
