A safety officer is an advisor, not a scapegoat. π

Letβs talk about a tough workplace reality that doesnβt get brought up enough: safety officers getting blamed for management failures. π
βA safety officerβs job is to identify risks, write policies, and advise. But they don't hold the checkbook, and they don't make the final corporate calls. When management cuts budgets, ignores safety reports, or pushes production speed over worker protection... who gets blamed when something goes wrong? Too often, itβs the safety professional.
βYou canβt give someone 100% of the responsibility but 0% of the authority. Safety isn't a one-person shield to hide behind when things go southβitβs a top-down culture.
