📺 SMALL THINGS THAT GOT ME TO DUNK - EPISODE 2 📺 - PENULTIMATE STEP

Everyone watches your last step before a jump. Nobody watches the one before that.

Episode 2 of “small things that actually got me to dunk” 🏀

The penultimate step (second-to-last before takeoff) is what actually converts your running speed into vertical lift. Get it wrong and you’re leaving inches on the table.

What it should look like:

1️⃣ Long — it’s usually the longest step in your approach, not the shortest

2️⃣ Low — let your hips and knees drop into it, don’t stay tall

3️⃣ Quick — the final plant after it should be short and fast

4️⃣ Up — that’s when you actually explode vertically

Cue I use: long → low → quick → up

Mine used to be short and upright for years. Fixing just this added more to my jump than any single strength exercise did.

Drilling this one is its own thing though — I’ll walk through exactly how in the next post 👀

🏀 STOP WASTING DUNK SESSIONS 🏀

Most knee and ankle injuries don’t happen overnight — they build up from poor load management, weak links, and missed fundamentals.

On this page I break down:
• Knee & ankle injury prevention 🦵🏼
• Rehab principles athletes should know 📝
• Strength that actually transfers to sport 🏋🏻‍♀️
• Smarter ways to train and recover 🧠

If you’re an athlete or active person who wants stronger, more resilient joints, you’re in the right place.

Save this post for later and follow for more.

What injury topic should I break down next? 👇
