🟪 It's easier for minorities to remain central to a music scene when it's small, local and personal. Once it becomes a massive global phenomenon, it's much harder for marginalized people to stay inside the frame of attention. 👁

But another reason for this absence is that history is written by victors: as dance music became more mainstream and had more crossover success, the people writing its history followed the "more relevant" threads into primarily straight, white, middle class environments, quickly forgetting about the more q***r and colorful scenes that were still dancing and making music. 👯‍♀️👯‍♂️

What a week it has been at Oslo Pride! 🙌
We held two debates at Pride House with over 55 attendees combined, and we were present at Pride Park for two days and at Skeiv natt – talking to around 600 people in total! 🙌💪
None of this would have been possible without all of you who put on the Chemfriendly t-shirt and represented us with everything you had. A special shoutout to Richard for preparing everything we needed for the stands – including packing 1,500 bags of food supplements and even more bags of user equipment 🤪 – and to our social media responsible for creating amazing graphic design that gave us great visibility, both here on Instagram and on two of Oslo Pride's own screens in the Pride Park! 😍

And we cannot forget our general manager Georg (last picture), who has been absolutely invaluable throughout the whole week – always available when needed, and a pillar of support we simply couldn't do without. 🫶🏼

You are all doing God's harm reduction work on earth! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to each and every one of you! 💯❤️

There used to be a strong culture of care that was passed on informally and people looked out for each other, brought water, and knew how to respond if someone wasn’t feeling well. 👭

Now, with many new attendees who don’t have that background, we’re seeing a gap in awareness and responsibility. 📖
kin is a norwegian q***r rave scene that aims to uphold these values and tradition within the rave community. 💜✨️

You don’t have to use drugs yourself to learn about them. Knowing how different substances work, and how to recognise and respond to an overdose, can save lives. 🏥💜

Talk with your friends. Share information, resources, and perspectives on how to create safer spaces for everyone, especially those most at risk. Safety is a collective practice, not an individual choice. 🫂🌈
