🌶️🌶️🌶️You don’t need any more outdated
BS advice designed to make you feel guilty or inadequate.

Half my job is honestly just undoing the poor advice you see floating around on social media.

Breastfeeding attracts endless opinions and terrible info, and sometimes you just need someone in your corner to help you sift through the mud.

I could add a million more to this list, but these are the top ones.

Got some “advice” you want me to fact-check?
Or want more detail on one of the points above?

Normalise the normal!!!
When these videos come up on me feed it drives me crazy. I see some mums pumping a whole 24 hours worth of milk in one session. It is insane and also comes with a whole raft of potential issues. It most certainly is not the norm - although as a vulnerable mum doom scrolling it really starts to feel like it is.
Babies on average drink around 750ml of milk per 24 hours from around a month old right up up until the start to establish themselves on solids and then it starts to slowly drop. Yes you read the right their intake stays consistent. On average drinking around 80ml per feed (sometimes a little less sometimes a little more).
60-120ml is the normal not a low supply.
Please note this is in place of a full feed. If you are pumping after a direct breastfeed expect A LOT less.
Your baby just fed and took what they needed.
Stop doubting your own milk supply based on someone else’s output on social media.

Why are we still pounding on their backs like we’re trying to start a lawnmower? No but seriously!!

Aggressive burping at the end of a feed usually leads to:
1️⃣An unsettled, wide-awake baby.
2️⃣Projectile vomit.
3️⃣Regretting your life choices at 3 AM.

Try a mid-feed break and a gentle chest-snuggle instead.
Keep them upright, keep them calm, and keep them asleep.

Feeling sassy on a Friday night 💁‍♀️But seriously wtf is with judgy people and their judgy opinions???
