Calayan Educational Foundation, Incorporated Founded in 1973, CEFI offers over 20 programs in basic education, baccalaureate, and graduate school programs. CALAYAN EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION INC.

(CEFI) is a non-stock, non-profit institution of learning. It was founded in 1973 by Drs. Emeterio and Josefina Calayan. For 23 years, the school was known as the Medical Center Lucena Educational Institutions, Inc. (MCLEI), until it was rechristened with its present name in 1996 in honor of the founders. CEFI became the pioneer paramedical institution in Quezon Province. Our expertise and experie

nce sets the standard in health-related tertiary and vocational programs. At present, CEFI stands alone as the sole paramedical institution in the province, with its Medical Technology, Radiologic Technology and Physical Therapy programs. Expanding its services to accommodate the growing needs of the clientele, CEFI to date is one of the few private institutions in Lucena City that offer pre-elementary, grade school, high school and college courses. Aside from paramedical courses, CEFI also has courses for business, liberal arts, hospitality, criminology, information technology, and teacher education.

ANOTHER STEP BEYOND BORDERS! 🇵🇭🇲🇾

The CEFI BS Nursing program continues to expand its global learning opportunities as our students embark on another international academic collaboration this academic year through the Summer Camp at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Malaysia, happening September 6–12, 2026.

Part of the International Student Mobility Program of the College of Health Sciences, this collaboration provides CEFIzens the opportunity to engage with an international academic community, exchange knowledge and perspectives, experience a different culture, and further develop their competencies as future healthcare professionals.

More than a global exposure, this initiative reflects CEFI's continuing commitment to : Quality Education by broadening learning opportunities beyond the classroom; : Good Health and Well-Being by strengthening the preparation of future nurses; : Reduced Inequalities by fostering intercultural understanding and inclusive learning; and : Partnerships for the Goals through meaningful international academic collaboration.

Congratulations to The Calayan Minstrels (TCM) and Andrea Chelsey Par of the Calayan Dance Company for placing SECOND RUNNER-UP in the Cultural Presentation at CHED CALABARZON’s VOYAGE ASEAN 2026!

Among 11 finalists representing the ASEAN member countries, CEFI proudly represented the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR/Laos) 🇱🇦, showcasing its traditions, music, dance, clothing, arts, and national identity.

With the guidance of Choirmaster Mr. Juan Carlo Villanueva and Artistic Director Mr. Marc Araneta, all the hard work and passion truly paid off! 💚💛
