Many thanks to Governor Nelson "BOY" Dayanghirang and Dr. Reden VB , Provincial Health Officer, for this meaningful recognition. We are truly grateful for your trust and for recognizing the role of DOMS in advancing healthcare in our province.

DOMS reaffirms our unwavering commitment to work hand in hand with the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental and the Provincial Health Office in strengthening public health programs and improving the well-being of every Oriental Davaoeño.

The Davao Oriental Medical Society (DOMS) is honored and proud to have been part of the historic 1st Gawad Oriental Davaoeños, recognizing the outstanding achievements of Davao Oriental's brightest minds.

Represented by our President, Dr. Lloyd Fyl O. Razo, MD, DFM , DOMS took an active role in making this meaningful event possible. Dr. Razo served as Chairman of the Gawad Husay for Academic Excellence Committee and was also a member of other working committees.

One of DOMS' responsibilities was to identify the province's recent physician board passers. It was the vision of our Governor that they be formally recognized for their hardwork and dedication. The task was challenging, but through the collective efforts of our members, we successfully nominated nine physicians and we are delighted that all nine were approved for recognition.

DOMS is deeply grateful to the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental, especially our Governor Nelson "BOY" Dayanghirang and BM Kap Ravelo for allowing us to be part of this prestigious initiative. We congratulate all the Gawad Husay awardees and hope this recognition inspires more Davao Oriental youth to pursue excellence.

We look forward to working once again with our Governor and the Provincial LGU next year, when the celebration promises to be even grander as Davao Oriental marks its Diamond Jubilee.

Davao Oriental Medical Society is proud to present our first-ever recipients of the Gawad Oriental Davaoeño – Gawad Husay for Academic Excellence! 🎉👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

Passing the Physician Licensure Examination is already a remarkable achievement. But to be recognized by your own province is a rare privilege and a special honor.

We know that wherever life has taken you, or whatever medical school you attended, whenever someone asked,
"Taga-asa (Taga-saan) ka?"
You proudly answered,
"Davao Oriental."
Then came the familiar follow-up:
"Davao City?"
And with pride, you replied,
"No, Davao Oriental—about two to three hours from Davao City."

Today, you no longer have to explain where you're from. Through your achievements, you have proudly put Davao Oriental on the map. And today, your province proudly honors you in return.

We know how demanding your schedules are, yet you still chose to be with us. Your presence made this celebration even more meaningful and reminded us that no matter where your careers take you, Davao Oriental will always be home.

We hope the event was worthwhile and that you felt the appreciation and pride of your fellow Oriental Davaoeños.
