📣 Attention, Doctors!

If you are currently practicing in Davao Oriental and are considering transferring your membership to our local society, we encourage you to complete your transfer 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟑𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

Doing so will help avoid the need to pay local society dues to both the mother society and the receiving society for the same membership year.

𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙛𝙚𝙧:

1. Submit a written application for transfer submitted to your current Component Medical Society (CMS) (form attached)

2. Get Certificate of Good Standing from your current CMS. State purpose "for transfer of society".

3.Submit to Davao Oriental Medical Society Secretariat.

4.Notification of the PMA Secretary General by DOMS.

𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | In celebration of World Family Doctors Day 2026, DOMS took part in the event “Compassion Beyond Screens: A Medical Mission and Health Education Drive” held in Sitio Calagundian, Brgy. Central, Mati City.

DOMS officers and members actively joined the DOPMC Department of Family and Community Medicine, in partnership with the City Health Office of Mati, and with the support of the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental and various partner organizations in providing medical assistance and promoting health education within the community. Beyond active participation, DOMS also shared medicines to further assist individuals and families who attended the medical mission.

DOMS remains committed to supporting activities that promote public health, community engagement, and service beyond the clinic walls. ✨

Members of the Davao Oriental Medical Society attended the 119th Annual Convention and Scientific Meetings of the Philippine Medical Association held last May 13–16, 2026 at the Edsa Shangri-La, Manila.

The delegation was led by current DOMS President Dr. Lloyd Fyl Razo together with former presidents Dr. Victorio Cubelo, Dr. Jaime Barza, and Dr. Severo Arnao Jr. They were joined by Dr. Hanida Godoy, Dr. Nida Catbagan, Dr. Emily Juan, Drs. Ricarlito and Blesilda Jaylo, and Dr. John Angelo Cruz.

Through participation in the convention’s scientific sessions and professional activities, the group gained updated knowledge and valuable insights that can further contribute to the improvement of healthcare services in the Province of Davao Oriental.

The convention was made even more meaningful as the Davao Oriental Medical Society received its first-ever PMA recognition; the Award of Merit for Membership Growth for a Component Society. The award stands as a testament to the organization’s continued growth, unity, and commitment to strengthening the medical community in Davao Oriental.

While many medical societies strive for recognition as outstanding societies, DOMS has chosen to focus on what truly sustains an organization; growth, unity, and strong foundations.

This Award of Merit stands as a testament to that vision. This year, DOMS became the only medical society in the entire country to receive this recognition. This means we achieved the highest percentage of new members nationwide.

This reflects the commitment of our President Dr. Lloyd Fyl O. Razo, MD, DFM. officers and members to strengthen the Society, welcome new colleagues, and build an organization that continues to grow together in service, leadership, and camaraderie.

We continue to invite doctors who are practicing in Davao Oriental to register with us or transfer their membership to the Davao Oriental Medical Society - DOMS as we work together in building a stronger, more united, and more active medical community for the province.

The Philippine Medical Association has asked every medical society to make a 1-page advertisement to be published in the souvenir book to be distributed during the 119th PMA Annual Convention on May 13-16, 2026.

Here is what we came up.

But a single image cannot fully capture the dedication, sacrifice, and collective effort of the men and women who served as officers and members of the society. Behind every activity, outreach, meeting, advocacy, and achievement were countless hours of commitment from physicians united by one goal: to uplift the medical profession and improve healthcare delivery for the people of Davao Oriental.
