During Biennale Cinema, some of Venice’s most recognisable guests retreat across the lagoon to Hotel Cipriani.

Set on Giudecca Island, five minutes from St Mark’s Square by private boat, the hotel has welcomed generations of cinema’s most iconic names. Its guest book includes George and Amal Clooney, Sophia Loren, Cary Grant and Lady Gaga.

Beyond its famous discretion, guests will find private gardens, Venice’s largest swimming pool, Michelin-starred dining at Oro and the city’s newly opened first Dior Spa.

For a Venice stay worthy of the guest list, TRIPTAILOR will take care of the details.

How unusual is too unusual for a hotel?

At The Fife Arms in Braemar, a Steinway plays by itself, Victorian cabinets preserve the birds of the Highlands, glass antlers glow above the staircase and a red stag with ptarmigan wings watches over the bar.

Yet nothing is here simply to surprise you.

Restored by Iwan and Manuela Wirth, the founders of Hauser & Wirth, this Victorian coaching inn holds around 16,000 artworks, antiques and curiosities. Each one adds another layer to its story of Scotland, its landscape and its culture.

The hotel was designed to keep you curious. Only those who look closer will find all its stories.

This unusual Scottish hotel won’t be for everyone. The right travellers will find it fascinating.

Is it for you?

Casa Fuster began as one man’s extraordinary gift to his wife. More than a century later, it remains one of Barcelona’s most remarkable addresses.

Completed in 1911 as the final residential work of modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, it was once considered the city’s most expensive home. Its three white-marble façades, cylindrical corner tower and French-inspired rooftop still mark the point where Passeig de Gràcia meets Gràcia.

The building was nearly demolished in the 1960s, but Barcelona refused to lose it. Saved by public opposition and later restored as a hotel, it now brings together architecture, live jazz at Café Vienés, a rooftop overlooking the city and two-Michelin-starred dining at Aleia.

Woody Allen even played clarinet here while filming Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Some hotels give you a room in the city.. this one gives you a place in its history.

For a Barcelona stay shaped around the addresses worth knowing, TRIPTAILOR will take care of the rest.

Meet Damien Vigroux, the potter behind La Bergerie. Vases, bowls, pitchers and decorative pieces are shaped, decorated and fired on site, with custom creations available too.

The atelier’s most unexpected design is a porous terracotta hedgehog. Add grass seeds and water, and it slowly grows its own green spines.

If you visit, this is the piece to look for.

The Côte d’Azur gets even better once you leave the coastline behind.

Tourrettes-sur-Loup and Saint-Paul-de-Vence sit close enough to combine in a day, but each has its own reason to linger: one shaped by artisans, violets and Provençal life, the other by generations of artists, galleries and addresses that became part of Riviera history.

Add a long lunch, a few unplanned stops and enough time to stay for dinner, and 20 minutes on the road becomes a very good excuse to spend the whole day in the hills.

Save this route for your next Côte d’Azur trip.

Saint-Paul-de-Vence has been drawing artists, writers and travellers for generations, and Le Saint Paul puts you right in the middle of it.

A 16th-century address behind the village walls, views across Provence and the kind of morning that makes leaving the room feel slightly unnecessary.

Saint-Paul-de-Vence belongs on the itinerary. TRIPTAILOR will take care of the rest.

September has a very good guest list.

From the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival and television’s biggest night in Los Angeles to the front rows of Milan and Paris Fashion Week, this month brings some of the most sought-after invitations on the international calendar.

There’s also room for something with a little more heart, as HHA celebrates 30 years with its anniversary charity brunch in California.

Access is available across selected events, shows, premieres and private experiences, with availability varying by date.

If there’s somewhere you’d like to be, ask us.

Veramente takes some of Italy’s most familiar dishes and gives them a Milan address in the heart of Brera.

The menu travels across the country, from cacio e pepe and Spaghettoni alla Nerano to Milanese classics, with a few creations of its own. One worth knowing is the Arancina alla Milanese, filled with ossobuco and gremolata, a playful meeting of Sicily and Milan.

The w**e list stays entirely Italian, while desserts include Fruttini Gelato from Antica Gelateria Matteo, established in 1962.

Long before private pools became a luxury resort standard, the Kokotos family was already building them in Elounda.

Spyros and Eliana Kokotos arrived here at the very beginning of Crete’s tourism story. He was an architect specialising in hotels; she had grown up in hospitality. Their first fully owned property, Elounda Mare, opened in 1982 and became the first hotel in the Mediterranean to have a private pool at each of its numerous bungalows.

Then came Porto Elounda in 1992, bringing Crete its first golf course and another Mediterranean first: hotel rooms opening onto long shared pools.

Elounda Peninsula grew from one of Porto Elounda’s waterfront wings before becoming a hotel of its own in 2002, created around exceptionally large seafront suites with private pools.

Some details still feel refreshingly uncommon: a private cinema, an intimate w**e cellar, seawater pools and access to the Six Senses Spa introduced to the Elounda Collection in 2006.

Today, the legacy lives on in the privacy, the views and the feeling that this place was never created to follow a formula.

Meliá Milano is one of those addresses that makes more sense once you know how to book it.

Beyond the redesign, The Level introduces a more private layer of the hotel experience through selected rooms and suites, personalised service and access to a lounge YesMilano describes as the biggest of its kind in Europe.

For a Milan stay built around your priorities, will take care of the rest.
