Treatment of an anterior open bite with NEXO Aligners, skeletal anchorage and posterior vertical control 🦷

A clinical case treated by Dr Domingo Martín, in which diagnosis, periodontal health and biomechanical design were essential to achieving a functional and stable outcome.

This treatment ➡️ demonstrates that clear aligner orthodontics is not simply about aligning teeth. The patient presented with an anterior open bite, poor coordination between the dental arches, lower arch crowding and a periodontal condition that required stabilisation before orthodontic tooth movement could begin.

Restoring periodontal health ✅ was a fundamental phase of the treatment. Working with stable periodontal tissues made it possible to plan tooth movements on a safer and more favourable biological foundation.

The treatment combined NEXO Aligners with skeletal anchorage using miniscrews to control the vertical dimension, manage the posterior segments and promote progressive bite closure.

Through carefully designed orthodontic biomechanics, both arches were coordinated, occlusal contacts were improved and a more functional and balanced dental relationship was achieved 🔎

Tratamiento de una mordida abierta anterior con NEXO Aligners, anclaje esquelético y control vertical posterior 🦷

Un caso clínico tratado por el Dr. Domingo Martín, en el que el diagnóstico, la salud periodontal y el diseño biomecánico fueron determinantes para alcanzar un resultado funcional y estable.

Este tratamiento ➡️ demuestra que la ortodoncia con alineadores transparentes no consiste únicamente en alinear los dientes. La paciente presentaba una mordida abierta anterior, falta de coordinación entre ambas arcadas, apiñamiento inferior y una situación periodontal que debía estabilizarse antes de iniciar los movimientos ortodóncicos.

La recuperación de la salud periodontal ✅ fue una fase fundamental del tratamiento. Trabajar sobre unos tejidos estables permitió planificar los movimientos dentales sobre una base biológica más segura y favorable.

El tratamiento combinó NEXO Aligners con anclaje esquelético mediante microtornillos para controlar la dimensión vertical, actuar sobre los sectores posteriores y favorecer el cierre progresivo de la mordida.
