Why should you try Riding Peace?

First, let’s clear up one big misconception…

Riding Peace is NOT typical equine therapy.

Our sensory horseback therapy uses specially trained horses and a specific sensory-based approach designed to work with the brain and body connection. It’s not simply about riding a horse or spending time with an animal. The goal is to help your nervous system regulate and give your brain and body an opportunity to reset and heal.

And the amazing thing is… you don’t have to have a diagnosis to benefit from it.

Riding Peace can be beneficial for people dealing with neurological and nervous-system challenges such as:

-Anxiety
-Depression
-PTSD
-ADHD
-Autism
-Learning disabilities
-Traumatic brain injuries & concussions
-Vertigo
-Dementia
-Parkinson’s
-Impulse control & frustration tolerance
-Trust issues & low self-esteem
-And so much more

But there’s another group of people I especially want to remind you about…

The people who are simply stressed, overwhelmed, or carrying trauma.

Our bodies hold onto stress. Sometimes we know exactly why we’re stressed, and sometimes we don’t. We can carry things our minds have learned to move past while our bodies are still holding onto them.

That’s where sensory horseback therapy can be so powerful.

The rhythmic movement of the horse, the sensory input, and the connection between the horse and rider create an opportunity for your body to slow down, regulate, and process what it has been carrying.

You don’t have to wait until you’re completely overwhelmed.

You don’t have to have a diagnosis.

And you don’t have to be an experienced rider.

Sometimes your body just needs a chance to slow down, let go, and find peace in motion.

That’s what Riding Peace is all about.

Finding peace in motion.

A few months ago, I had the privilege of giving Jami from Dark Horse Rescue Ranch her very first session with us! She was visiting her sister and decided to come give Riding Peace a try.

During her visit, Jami gave me so much wonderful advice and encouragement about keeping Riding Peace going strong, and, most importantly, about always relying on the Lord through it all. I’m so grateful for the wisdom and encouragement she shared with me!

Recently, Jami broke her foot and had to undergo surgery, which means she’s having to take a step back from the incredible work she has been doing.

If you have a moment, I would love for you to go give Dark Horse Rescue Ranch a follow, like and share their posts, and support the amazing work they’re doing. Jami isn’t only doing incredible work with horses, she’s also using horses to help women heal, grow, and find hope.

I know your support and encouragement would mean so much to Jami while she recovers. Please keep her in your prayers and show Dark Horse Rescue Ranch some love!

One of my favorite parts of helping so many amazing clients is watching the relationship grow beyond the therapy sessions. Sometimes clients become friends, and sometimes they even start to feel like family.

One of my clients, invited me over to meet her ponies, and if you know me, you know there was absolutely no way I was going to turn down an invitation like that!

I had the best time getting to love on her ponies, but honestly, what made the day so special was getting to spend time with Erica outside of the barn and getting to know her even more.

I’m so thankful for the people Riding Peace has brought into my life. I started this journey wanting to help people find peace, but along the way, I’ve been blessed with so many wonderful people who have brought a little more joy and peace into my own life, too.

One of the easiest things for us to do is start doubting ourselves.

“Is this really what God wants for me?”
“Am I supposed to be doing this?”
“How am I going to make this work?”

Those are thoughts I wrestle with more often than I’d like to admit.

Owning a business is hard. There are bills to pay, responsibilities to carry, and days when I wonder how everything is going to come together. Every once in a while, those doubts start creeping in.

But when I stop and look back, I can clearly see God’s hand over my life. So many doors have opened that I never could have opened on my own. He’s been faithful every step of the way, even when I’ve struggled to see it.

A few days ago, one of my client’s dads told me, “I feel like I’ve gotten my son back.” Those words reminded me exactly why God called me to do this.

Then, a few days later, I watched a little girl light up when she heard that I work with horses for a living. I couldn’t help but think about my 12-year-old self, I would have thought that was the coolest job in the world. God gives us little moments of encouragement right when we need them most.

So when those doubts come, remember why you started. Maybe it’s for your younger self. Maybe it’s for the people you’re helping today. Maybe it’s for your family. Don’t lose sight of the purpose God has placed on your heart.

Most importantly, remember that our greatest purpose isn’t found in our career or accomplishments, it’s found in Jesus Christ. The Gospel is simple: we are all sinners in need of a Savior, and because of His great love for us, Jesus lived the perfect life we couldn’t live, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again. Through Him we are offered forgiveness, hope, and eternal life, not because of what we’ve done, but because of what He has done.

If you’ve been searching for peace or purpose, you’ll only find it in Him. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep taking the next faithful step. God isn’t finished with your story yet.
