🌱 Building Healthy Soil Through Organic Materials! 🌱

Healthy crops begin with healthy soil! During our Organic Crop Farming Training, participants learned how to mix locally available organic materials to produce nutrient-rich compost for sustainable crop production.

Farmers practiced combining:
🍂 Dry materials such as leaves and crop residues
🌿 Fresh materials such as green plants and animal manure
💧 Water and proper aeration to support decomposition

This simple, natural process transforms farm waste into valuable soil nutrients that improve fertility, increase moisture retention, support beneficial microorganisms, and promote healthier crops.

Day 2 - 17/07/26

🌱🎉 Day Two Highlights – Organic Crop Farming Training Successfully Concluded! 🎉🌱

The Integrated Sustainable Development Initiative (ISDI), in collaboration with the KISOO Women's Group Initiative, successfully concluded a two-day Organic Crop Farming Training in Leboudi, Leki Subdivision, Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Day Two focused on practical, hands-on learning, allowing participants to apply the knowledge gained on Day One. Together, participants learned and practiced:

🌿 Preparing nutrient-rich organic compost using locally available materials.
🌾 Proper land preparation and soil improvement techniques.
🌱 Seed selection, nursery establishment, planting methods, and correct crop spacing.
🌼 Mulching to conserve soil moisture and control weeds.
💧 Water conservation and efficient irrigation practices.
🐞 Natural pest and disease management using environmentally friendly solutions.
♻️ Crop rotation, intercropping, and sustainable soil fertility management.

The practical demonstrations gave participants the confidence to implement organic farming techniques on their own farms using affordable, locally available resources. The enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment shown by the women throughout the training reflected a shared vision of improving food security, protecting the environment, and strengthening household livelihoods.

ISDI remains committed to empowering women, youth, and vulnerable communities with sustainable agricultural knowledge and practical skills that contribute to climate resilience, environmental conservation, and economic empowerment.

Day 1 - 16/07/2026

🌱 Day One Success! – Organic Crop Farming Training 🌱

Today marked a successful start to our 2-Day Organic Crop Farming Training with the incredible women of the KISOO Women's Group Initiative in Leboudi, Leki Subdivision, Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Theme: Empowering Women, Enriching soil and Building sustainable communities

Participants learned the fundamentals of organic crop farming, including:
🌿 Building healthy soils through composting
🌾 Sustainable crop production practices
♻️ Natural methods to improve soil fertility
🌍 Protecting the environment while increasing farm productivity

The training was highly interactive, with participants sharing experiences, asking insightful questions, and taking part in practical demonstrations on compost preparation using locally available materials.

Together, we are empowering women with the knowledge and skills to grow healthier crops, improve food security, increase household incomes, and build more resilient communities.

We look forward to an exciting Day Two, where participants will gain even more hands-on experience in organic farming techniques.
