This evidence-based lecture reviewed clinical presentations, standardized testing, and hands-on application of handling techniques. Throughout the rest of the residency year, concepts from this lecture will carry forward into additional learning opportunities when our resident spends time in the NICU, at seating and positioning clinics, and with orthopedic physicians addressing the needs of children with cerebral palsy.

Pictured here is Megan Yourey, OPTA student, using a mobilization belt to provide hip distraction as part of her patient’s treatment, helping to promote pain free movement so he can return to the outdoor activities he enjoys.
