Bright Feats Northeast Florida - Jacksonville

Bright Feats Northeast Florida - Jacksonville Connecting Northeast Florida special needs families with community services. Johns, Putnam, & Flagler County. My name is Anna. No such luck.

Bright Feats Jacksonville serves the Northeast Florida Region which includes Nassau, Duval, Clay, St. I am a local special needs parent with 2 amazing children. My son is diagnosed with ASD and mild CP and my daughter, ADHD. When my son was an infant, my husband and I were told that our beautiful boy would most likely never walk and have a very low quality of life. In that moment I decided, challe

nge accepted! My son never looked back and I have made it my mission to give him every opportunity to meet his highest potential. Turns out, his potential is beyond my wildest dreams. The world of special needs is difficult to navigate. This is compounded by a lack of access to comprehensive information. In my experience, finding resource information is difficult and time consuming. That search for information led me to Bright Feats. I found a copy of Bright Feats in an Ormond Beach ABA office. I was blown away that a resource full of all the information I spend every second of my free time trying to search out, existed. I immediately searched their website for Jacksonville, Saint Augustine, or Palm Coast. I was awestruck and impressed with the gold mine of information I had stumbled upon. Before I left the parking lot that day, I had emailed Bright Feats making my case for why we needed them in northeast Florida. They needed no convincing, Jacksonville was already on their vision board. That email opened up a world of possibilities and placed this labor of love directly in my path. Bright Feats mission is to serve families like my own, by connecting them to the services and community resources available to support their needs. This publication and platform is a tool to empower families, strengthen our community, support our ESE departments, and help great services grow and maintain so that they may serve more families. I am honored and eager to support this mission and our community.

🎃👻 OUR TRUNK OR TREAT IS ABOUT SO MUCH MORE THAN CANDY. 👻🎃

On October 10th from 4–7 PM, we’re opening our gates for a Trunk or Treat that is especially close to our hearts. ❤️

For so many of our special needs families, Halloween can be overwhelming. The crowds, loud noises, costumes, expectations, and unfamiliar environments can make it hard to simply enjoy being a kid.

We want our Trunk or Treat to be different.

🧡 This is a safe space.
🧡 This is a judgment-free space.
🧡 This is a place where you can come exactly as you are.

Wear a costume—or don’t.
Trick-or-treat—or just hang out.
Make noise—or find a quiet spot.
Participate in everything—or nothing at all.

There are no expectations here. Just acceptance.

Our goal is to create a night where our special needs friends and their families can feel comfortable, included, and genuinely welcome. Because every child deserves to experience the magic of Halloween without having to apologize for who they are. 🥹❤️

We are currently collecting individually wrapped candy and fidget/sensory-friendly items to help make the night extra special.

If you can donate, we would be incredibly grateful. 🍬🧩

Come as you are.
Bring your people.
Be yourself.
You belong here. 🧡

“ART & AUTISM: Processing Reality” opened at the Lake County Museum of Art in Tavares, Florida, on August 28. The exhibition features work from autistic artists who took part in the 2026 SeeMyVoice program, an initiative that pairs emerging artists with mentorship and support while giving them space to develop their own creative styles and techniques.

The exhibition was created in collaboration with the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities and Providing Autism Links & Support (PALS). Rather than simply making an art space more accessible to autistic visitors, the focus here is on autistic people as the artists themselves, giving the public an opportunity to experience the world through their work and individual perspectives.

The show runs through September 26, 2026, giving visitors almost a month to see the collection in person. ❤️🎨

Would you like to see more museums dedicate exhibition space specifically to autistic and neurodivergent artists?
