Last week, our summer intern, Lauren D’Arco, presented her poster at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health closing ceremony for Local Public Health (LPH) interns.

Her project, “Identifying Maternal and Child Health Needs Across the Merrimack Valley Public Health Alliance Communities,” focused on conducting a regional survey to better understand maternal and child health needs across our communities. Lauren also supported our team with planning the regional baby shower and health education events.

We’re incredibly grateful for Lauren’s hard work, dedication, and contributions throughout her internship! We’re so proud to have been part of her journey and our team was thrilled to be there cheering her on. 💙

🌟 We are STILL accepting donations for the Bright Beginnings Community Baby Shower! 🌟

Want to help a new family get off to a great start? Have a baby item that deserves a second home? We are continuing to collect donations that will be distributed to expecting and new families across the Merrimack Valley on September 26, 2026.

What We Are Happily Accepting:

Gently used clothing, crib sheets, blankets & shoes (newborn-2T), Board books & picture books, New/unopened diapers, wipes & formula and Gently used baby toys (clean & all parts present)

Where You Can Drop Off:

- Newburyport City Hall

- Amesbury Public Library
