One of the strengths of EMDR therapy is that it doesn't rely on a single pathway to healing.

EMDR incorporates elements found in cognitive, psychodynamic, exposure, and somatic approaches, allowing clinicians to address how trauma affects thoughts, emotions, memories, behaviors, relationships, and the body. Rather than focusing on just one aspect of a client's experience, EMDR helps bring these pieces together into a comprehensive healing process.

This integration is one reason EMDR continues to be such a powerful and versatile approach for treating trauma and other life experiences that become "stuck" in the nervous system.
