Congratulations to Alex Marshall, an Assistant Case Manager in our Cardiology Clinic, on his BEE (Being Excellent Everyday) Award! 🐝

Developed to recognize healthcare individuals who go above and beyond in the care that they provide, the BEE Award is presented to two individuals each quarter.

Here’s what a patient wrote about Alex in their nomination:

“What a wonderful person to interact with on the phone. He was so helpful, patient, and thorough in helping me get an earlier appointment for a CVT. I have a concerning health issue, and I felt the original appointment for two months out was too long to have this issue addressed. Alex was on it and made sure he checked to find an appointment in a more reasonable time period. I appreciate what he did for me.”

The BEE Award is part of the DAISY Award Program, which was developed to recognize extraordinary nurses.

Patients, their families, and fellow staff can nominate healthcare providers for either the BEE or DAISY Awards.

Helmets On! 🚵 As we enjoy biking this summer, please remember to wear your helmet. Research published by the Brain Injury Association of America shows that wearing a helmet can reduce the likelihood of brain injuries by 65% to 88%. Besides impact protection, helmets also improve visibility when designed with bright colors or reflective elements, and they offer practical shielding from sun, rain, and debris.

“Patients are always going to get the medications that they need, they’re always going to get the follow-up they need,” shares Dr. Bruce Gregoire. “I feel like as a provider I’m doing a good job by patients.”

👏👏👏 Today we celebrated the 17th class of Alaska-educated Dental Health Aide Therapists (DHATs) joining the Alaska Tribal Health System! Congratulations to our graduates: Riley O'Brien, sponsored by Southcentral Foundation (SCF), and Brianna Morrison, sponsored by SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC)!🎓🎓

🦷 DHATs are oral healthcare professionals that live and work in communities across Alaska and provide preventative, restorative, and emergency care to our relatives who previously might have gone without dental care. Since the inclusion of DHATs to the Tribal Health system, over 40,000 people now have more routine access to oral health care! 🪥

We also want to recognize our DHAT students who are headed to Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC) for their second year of training:
-Tabatha Leiva, sponsored by Kodiak Area Native Association - KANA
-Joanna Majeski, sponsored by SEARHC
-Jared Thorson, sponsored by YKHC

Congratulations students, and thank you to the Tribal Health Organizations that sponsor students and invest in the future of dental health in their communities! ❤️

The Alaska Dental Therapy Educational Program (ADTEP) is a collaboration between ANTHC and Iḷisaġvik College. To learn more about the program, visit https://anthc.org/education-training/health-aides/

As a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, it was important to Dr. Heidi Johnson when choosing a place to work that it be patient-centered and considerate of people’s cultural backgrounds. She found that at ANTHC ❤️

We take pride in our culture of care and dedication to our people 🤲 If that sounds like something that matters to you, consider a career with us and join our team today! 👉https://anthc.org/work-with-us
