I’m a little late posting this one, but I couldn’t let Gaslight Festival come and go without saying something about what an incredible day this was for Anderson!!

There was so much happening throughout the day—the historic homes, music, vendors, dancing, horse-drawn carriage, and so many people coming together to enjoy and celebrate our community.

I was so glad to have the opportunity to lead a guided meditation in Elmo Funk Park as one of the scheduled Gaslight Festival events. It was pretty awesome to intentionally pause in the middle of such a busy, energetic day.

Days like this are what Love Your City looks like—to show up, invest in it, celebrate it, and work together to make good things happen here.

To everyone who planned, organized, volunteered, and worked so hard to make this day possible—thank you!!!

And to everyone who came out, visited the vendors, supported local businesses, and celebrated our community—thank you for showing so much love to our city. ❤️

Your support matters. More than you probably realize. It helps community events like this continue, allows local businesses to grow, and makes more good things possible right here in Anderson.

Old Man Yoga is for guys who could probably use a good stretch.

It is a laid-back, beginner-friendly class built around stretching, mobility, balance, and keeping your body moving well.

No yoga experience needed.
No need to be flexible.
No pressure to keep up.

Just a lot of good stretching, some simple movement, and a chance to loosen up all the places that don’t move quite like they used to.

If you’ve ever said, “I’m too stiff for yoga,” this is probably the yoga class for you.

Remember when the Plant Lady showed up with all those plants to replace the ones I killed days before the Gaslight festival home tour?🌿

Well… here’s the after.

A huge thank you to Sharon from Little Shop of Floras for coming over, walking through our space and helping me figure out exactly what we needed where. AND, what can survive me!! 💀

It’s amazing what a little greenery can do. The plants brought so much life, softness, and warmth into this big old building we call home.

And, they didn't just change the way the space feels—they can change the way we feel in it. Turns out, a little more green around you can do a whole lot for your mood.

Thank you, Sharon. I love what you added to our space. 💚

Studio Zen is operating by appointment only Tuesday, Aug 25 - Thursday, Aug 27th. The boutique will be closed, but all scheduled appointments and classes will take place as planned.

If you’re joining us during this time, your practitioner or instructor will unlock the door a few minutes before your scheduled appointment or class.

When we decided to buy this building and create Studio Zen, we had to sell our house to make the dream possible. And since we still needed somewhere to live…we made a home right above it.

This Sunday, Chuck and I are honored to be on the Gaslight Festival Home Tour, which means you’ll get to come upstairs and see the loft we call home.

It’s a pretty unusual way to live—but it feels very us. There’s something we love about making a home—and a life—in a building that was once a jail, and helping turn a place built for confinement into one filled with beauty and freedom.

And we get to do it right on Main Street in the hometown we love.

If you’ve ever wondered about the loft itself, this is also a chance to see a space that is available to rent for private gatherings, celebrations and special experiences.

Come support the Gaslight Festival, tour some really special Anderson spaces…and come see how we live above Studio Zen.

Slow Flow is a gentle, unhurried yoga class that gives you time to move, breathe, and settle into each pose without feeling rushed. You’ll move through simple stretches and accessible yoga poses at a comfortable pace, with plenty of options and modifications along the way.

Beginners are absolutely welcome. You don’t need to be flexible, experienced, or “good at yoga” to come. If you can breathe, move, and listen to your body, you can do Slow Flow.

Come as you are. Move at your own pace. Leave feeling a little more open, grounded, and relaxed.
