Hospice of Michigan needs volunteers to visit hospice patients with their pets across southeast Michigan, offering moments of joy

🐕‍🦺 Meet Hercules, a beefy 12-year-old American Pit Bull. Hercules and his human, Ellen have been bringing joy to Arbor Hospice for the past 3 ½ years. Born and raised in Ann Arbor, both Ellen’s grandfather and father used Arbor Hospice services and knew that Hercules would be a perfect fit. Ellen also wanted to promote his breed, as so many stereotypes are not true.

Outside of volunteering, he wants to snuggle, and he loves to sunbathe! He answers to many names such as Herc, Hercky-which turned into Turkey then Turk, Papa, Big Boy and Chunk. If you have a plain cheeseburger, he’ll come running!

Incredible support for our NorthStar Care Community statewide Jo Elyn Nyman Anchors Program for Children pediatric hospice program!

This has been one unforgettable week. More than 300 gifts. More than $20,000 raised and people are still showing up for our pediatric hospice families.

The kindness sparked by Josh & Jase and Life of Matt's visit with our pediatric hospice families has traveled far beyond one afternoon in Grand Rapids, reaching people across the country and shining a national spotlight on the Jo Elyn Nyman Anchors Programs for Children, NorthStar Care Community’s statewide pediatric hospice program.

And behind every view, share and gift is something much bigger:

Helping ensure families facing a child’s hospice journey never have to worry about the financial burden of their care.

We are incredibly grateful to Josh, Jase and Matt for listening so genuinely to our families and using their platform to share their stories and to every person who donated, shared or helped spread the word.

A special thank you to Meijer for joining this wave of generosity with a $5,000 gift to our Pediatric Hospice Endowment.

This impact reaches far beyond the numbers. It helps protect compassionate pediatric hospice care for Michigan families for years to come.

Thank you for being part of it.
