Thank you Sandy for a great review! We get messages and hugs every day from our caregivers regarding how their life has changed for the better since meeting Better Life Care. But, it’s in the name! We don’t just want to provide a better life for the amazing participants, but for their courageous caregivers as well. Our lives have also changed since opening our doors to these families. June is Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month. If you're a family member or friend of someone going through the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias Journey, we also recommend reading "Loving Someone Who Has Dementia" by Boss. As the book notes, it's a new kind of caregiving book. It's not about the usual techniques, but about how to manage ongoing stress and grief. At Better Life Care, we aim to provide awareness, education, and loving care to our caregivers. Let us know your thoughts on this book and if there are any other books that we should recommend regarding alzeimer's and brain awareness. If you're a family member or friend of someone going through the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias Journey, we recommend reading "Keeping Love Alive As Memories Fade" by Barr, Shaw, and Chapman. It discusses the 5 love languages and the Alzheimer's Journey. The Bible App has a related devotional as well. At Better Life Care, we aim to not just provide challenging daily programs for our participants, but loving care also for our caregivers. As the book notes, the deep human need for love does not disappear with a diagnosis of dementia. Let us know your thoughts on the book. June is Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month. Our great state of Maryland has established the Virginia I. Jones Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) Council (https://health.maryland.gov/phpa/ccdpc/Alzheimers-Council/Pages/default.aspx) aiming to promote the early detection of dementia and related conditions by increasing awareness and education among healthcare providers. Additionally, they support quality care for those living with the condition and their caregivers. Their next meeting is July 22 1-3 p.m. on zoom. At Better Life Care, we also aim to increase awareness and education of our staff and participants' caregivers. We also aim to provide quality loving care and respite for our participants and their caregivers. Let us know if you'll be joining the council meeting with us to thank Maryland for supporting this council.
