Mary McCallum Yoga + Wellness Her goal is to create a fun, inclusive, supportive, and non-intimidating environment for all ages, sizes, and abilities.

Mary is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy and an E-RYT200 YACEP certified yoga instructor specializing in accessible yoga for beginners. Mary is known for her ability to help discouraged folks find their way to safe and welcoming movement so they can enjoy more adventures, activities, and the big, bold lives they deserve. She loves educating her

students to create a personal yoga practice that relieves pain, provides movement freedom, and amplifies emotional well-being with every trip to the mat. Mary teaches classes and workshops locally in Minneapolis and nationally as a regular presenter at yoga festivals and conferences. She is also Director of Partnerships and a regular contributor to MN Yoga + Life Magazine. In her free time, Mary enjoys strength training, hiking, dancing, and learning how to DJ. Let’s celebrate the summer solstice, the longest day of the year! I love the energy of summer, but am also mindful of balancing out the increase in activity with moments of stillness and intentional rest to stay grounded and connected. I’m excited to be offering TWO summer solstice workshops where we’ll take a pause from the busy pace of summer and tune into the seasonal themes of light, growth, and abundance.

Friday June 19th | 6-7:30pm | The Yoga Center Retreat

Celebrate the summer solstice, a time for abundance, growth, gratitude for the sun, and connecting with nature. We will honor the transition of seasons through reflection/journaling, a gentle and mindful movement practice, and conclude with a guided yoga nidra meditation for stress relief and relaxation.

Slow down and connect with nature through the practice of forest bathing. Inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, forest bathing is a slow and mindful practice, connecting with nature through the senses. As a Certified Forest Therapy Guide, I will offer a series of invitations to explore a deeper connection with nature and with yourself. Research has shown that spending time in nature has many benefits, including reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, and improving mood.

Yoga for Larger Bodies is a body-affirming yoga practice designed for folks of every size, shape, and ability. If you have ever felt too intimidated to enter a yoga studio due to your body size or felt that yoga wasn't designed for your body, then this class series is for you.

During our 75-minute gentle yoga session, you will discover ways to create a yoga practice that works for you and learn mindfulness techniques to reduce anxiety and stress.

If you miss a class during the 6 weeks, no worries! There will be a free makeup class at the end of the series.

We’ll begin with restorative yoga to help the body release tension, then move into a calming yoga nidra for deep rest. Our time together will conclude with tea and time to connect.

Friday Yoga During the Walkout

On Friday, we will continue to hold yoga classes at The Yoga Room.

As many in our city participate in the walkout, we want to offer a space of respite, grounding, and care for those who need it. This is one way we are answering the call to action—by providing self-care and nervous-system support for those impacted by the ongoing ICE occupation and the fear, stress, and disruption it is causing in our community.

If you would like to attend class and cost is a barrier, please email [email protected] —no explanation needed. I will get you registered.

The "Sound Bath Fundraiser" is SOLD OUT.
