Just a reminder that Oklahoma’s Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) is hosting several upcoming engagement opportunities for partners, providers and community members to stay informed.

These sessions will include program updates and information on how stakeholders can engage in the funding process moving forward. The in-person roadshows will also include a listening session and time for community members to ask questions.

Last month, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette ran an advertisement for a “Canadian pharmacy” that promised readers savings of up to 80% on prescription drugs. In response, we sent a letter warning the paper that these ads promote the illegal importation of non-FDA-approved medicines and put Americans at risk. These foreign drug sellers operate outside the U.S. safety system. Their products bypass FDA oversight and the U.S. track-and-trace system that helps protect patients from counterfeit, contaminated, and substandard medicines.

*Please keep an eye out for similar advertisements in your local newspapers, magazines, coupon mailers, or community publications. If you see ads promoting “Canadian pharmacies,” imported prescription drugs, or steep discounts on medicines shipped from abroad, please send them to us. We’d be happy to write another smackdown letter like that one!
