October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, and it is important to remember that each year, 350,000 people experience out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and nearly 90% die. Immediate CPR and AED use can double or triple a person’s chance of survival.

The Leaders of Impact campaign helps further the American Heart Association’s work to expand CPR education and lifesaving training, ensuring more people are prepared to respond in a cardiac emergency. Across healthcare and emergency medical services, we're seeing growing opportunities to leverage technology in ways that can strengthen care delivery, improve coordination, and support better patient outcomes. Supported by T-Mobile, the American Heart Association is working with local EMS providers to explore how technology can help address real-world issues, identify opportunities for innovation, and better understand what solutions can have the greatest impact on the communities we serve.

Together, we’re turning bystanders into lifesavers and funding research that saves lives every day. The Atlanta Heart Walk brought together more than 5,000 walkers to raise more than $2.7 million.
