🎉 Celebrating One Year of Autism Friendly Austin at LIFE Mower County! 🎉

September 1 marked one full year since Autism Friendly Austin (AFA) transitioned from the Hormel Historic Home to LIFE Mower County!

What a year it has been! 💙

Our first year has been filled with learning, growing, trying new things, and welcoming so many new members and families into the LIFE Mower County community.

Over the past year, we have continued AFA’s Rec Nights and Summer Camps while also expanding opportunities with:

⭐ Winter Break Camp
⭐ Spring Break Camp
⭐ Rec Day's
⭐ More activities and opportunities for children, teens, and families

Most importantly, we have had the opportunity to meet a whole bunch of amazing new members and families!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our first year possible—our Rec Night and Rec Day staff, camp staff, volunteers, community partners, families, and everyone who has supported AFA along the way.

And a special thank you to Bernie for managing the AFA program and helping guide it through its first year at LIFE Mower County!

We are proud of everything that has happened during this first year and excited to see where Year Two takes us!

☀️ WE DID IT — $11,052 RAISED! ☀️

Our 2026 Summer Appeal, “A Summer of Belonging Starts With You,” had a goal of raising $10,000.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we didn't just reach our goal — we surpassed it, raising $11,052! 🎉

These donations help LIFE Mower County continue providing opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to make friends, try new experiences, stay active, and be included in their community.
