First of all, I’m not ashamed of the decisions I made in my early 20s. I learned from them and I adjusted.
For women, seggs could mean pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and years of investing in a child.
For men, the biological investment required to reproduce could be significantly lower.
Women have always had more of an evolutionary incentive to be selective about who they had seggs with and whether that man was willing to invest, protect, provide, and stay.
Men had more potential reproductive incentive to pursue multiple mating opportunities.
But this does NOT mean:
“Women want relationships and men just want seggs.”
Both men and women are capable of deep attachment, casual seggs, pair bonding, and emotional detachment.
The difference is in the tendencies, not the rules dawg.
And there’s an important distinction between seggsual desire and attachment.
A person can experience intense seggsual attraction and pleasure without their brain interpreting that person as someone they want to build a life with.
That’s why some people can sleep with someone and genuinely walk away thinking, “That was fun,” while someone else can have seggs and suddenly feel emotionally invested.
Seggs can create a feeling of connection, but feeling connected doesn’t necessarily mean you’re compatible, committed, or building a relationship.
And this is where women (like me in the past) can sometimes get themselves into trouble.
You can consciously tell yourself:
“It’s just seggs.”
But your emotional system may experience intimacy as something much more significant.
So before you give someone access to your body, ask yourself:
Can I genuinely handle this remaining casual if he doesn’t want anything more?
Your mind may initially say one thing, but your nervous system may have a very different interpretation.
