🎨 **HUMANITY HEALTH LOCAL ARTIST SPOTLIGHT — CALLING LOCAL ARTISTS!**
As I explain in the video, we're doing something new at **Humanity Health in Avon**, and we're looking for our first local artists!
As part of our new **Wellness Bar**, we're dedicating space inside Humanity Health to a rotating **Local Artist Spotlight**.
The idea is pretty simple:
**We have the space. You have the talent. Let's put the two together.**
Every (8) weeks, we'll select **one local artist** and give them an opportunity to display their work, tell their story, meet new people and hopefully sell some art along the way.
🎨 WHAT WE'RE OFFERING
Each selected artist will receive:
• Approximately **8 weeks of display space** inside The Wellness Bar at Humanity Health
• Space for **hanging artwork** as well as a limited amount of **3D artwork** such as pottery, ceramics, glass or small sculpture
• A featured **Meet the Artist Night** approximately two weeks into the exhibit
• Promotion through Humanity Health's social media
• An opportunity to introduce yourself, your work and your story to a new local audience
• **No display fee**
• **No commission on artwork sold**
If someone falls in love with your work and buys it, **100% of the sale belongs to you.**
Humanity Health isn't trying to become an art gallery. We're simply providing the space and helping introduce talented local artists to more people in our community.
🥂 MEET THE ARTIST NIGHT
Approximately **two weeks into your 8-week exhibit**, we'll host a special two-hour, after-hours **Meet the Artist Night from 7:30–9:30 PM.**
And this isn't a Humanity Health sales event.
**It's your night.**
Invite your friends, family, customers and social-media followers to come see your work and support what you're doing.
We'll welcome everyone and introduce the Local Artist Spotlight, and then you'll have an opportunity to introduce yourself, talk about your artwork, share what inspires you and meet the people who came to see your collection.
We'll have refreshments and samples from The Wellness Bar available while everyone visits and explores your work.
🖼️ WHAT KIND OF ART ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We're open to a variety of local artists, including:
• Painters
• Photographers
• Illustrators
• Mixed-media artists
• Pottery and ceramics
• Glass
• Small sculpture
• Other original 2D and 3D artwork that could work well in our space
Hanging artwork should generally be **36" × 36" or smaller**, although we may consider an occasional larger statement piece.
Artwork should be **original, ready to display and appropriate for a welcoming public retail environment.**
Because this is our space and we want every eight-week exhibit to feel cohesive, Humanity Health will select the artists and individual pieces that we believe are the best fit for the program.
💵 CAN YOU SELL YOUR ART?
**Absolutely. We hope you do.**
Humanity Health charges **no commission** and does not participate in the transaction.
The artist sets the price and handles the sale directly with the purchaser.
Our goal is for the artwork displayed in the Local Artist Spotlight to be **approachable and affordable for our customers, so most artwork should be priced below $500.**
We'd especially love to see artists offer a **range of price points**, giving more people an opportunity to own something and support a local artist.
❤️ YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A PROFESSIONAL ARTIST
This is important.
You don't need gallery representation.
You don't need a long résumé.
And you don't need to make your living as an artist.
**You just need to create original work you're proud of and have a story you'd like to share.**
We're interested in discovering talented people right here in Avon and the surrounding communities who may never have had an opportunity like this before.

• Your name
• Your hometown
• A little bit about yourself and your art
• **5–10 photos or examples of your work**
• Your website or social-media page, if you have one
• Approximate sizes and typical prices of your pieces
• Whether your work is hanging art, 3D art, or both
📅 FIRST ROUND OF SUBMISSIONS
We're currently accepting submissions for our **first group of featured artists through Sunday, September 6.**
There is **no cost to apply and no cost to participate.**
After the submission period closes, we'll review the artists and artwork we've received and contact those we'd like to talk with about available dates and next steps.
❤️ WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
Humanity Health has been part of the Avon community for eight years, and Tracy and I believe being a local business should mean more than simply selling products.
We want The Wellness Bar to become a place where people can **discover things being created by talented people right here in our own community.**
Sometimes that might be a local wellness maker.
Sometimes it might be a local artist.
And sometimes it might simply give somebody a reason to walk through our doors, meet someone they didn't know before and discover something pretty cool happening right here in Avon.
That's what we're hoping to build.
