Dialysis technicians know their machines—but their job is about much more than machines. 💙

Their work involves patient care, infection control, equipment and machine technology, water treatment, safety, education, and teamwork. These are major areas covered by national dialysis technician certification exams.

But there’s something an exam can’t completely measure:

Compassion.

The friendly hello at the beginning of treatment.
The conversation that makes the time pass faster.
The attention to the little details.
The reassurance when someone is having a hard day.

Technical skill and human connection come together every day in dialysis care.

That’s what makes our technicians so special. 💙

🎓It Takes Training, Skill & Certification

There’s a LOT more to becoming a dialysis technician than putting on a pair of scrubs! 🎓🩺

Clinical hemodialysis technicians receive specialized education and hands-on training to learn about dialysis treatment, patient care, equipment, infection prevention, safety, and much more.

For example, eligibility for the CCHT certification successful completion of a clinical hemodialysis technician training program.📖

Federal requirements also call for dialysis technicians to earn a national certification.🩺

And the learning doesn’t stop after the exam. Certification programs require continued work experience and continuing education to maintain the credential.

So when you see that dialysis tech beside the chair, remember:

Behind those scrubs are training, knowledge, skill, certification, and dedication. 👑💙

Today is all about APPRECIATION. 💙

Dialysis technicians spend countless hours caring for their patients—often getting to know their routines, their stories, their families, and exactly how they like to spend those hours in the dialysis chair.

They celebrate the good days, offer encouragement on the difficult ones, and help keep treatments running safely day after day.

So today, we have one assignment:
