Update: Shelter-in-Place Advisory Lifted – Bergen
As of 5:30 p.m., the reported leak near 15 Church Street in Bergen has been stopped.
Emergency crews are working with the DEC and EPA to verify conditions through testing. At this time, all testing appears favorable.
The shelter-in-place advisory has been lifted.
Thank you to residents and businesses for their cooperation and to all emergency responders who assisted.

Update (2:40 pm): Shelter-in-Place Advisory – Bergen
Emergency officials advise that the shelter-in-place advisory remains in effect within a 1/2-mile radius of 15 Church Street in Bergen.
Residents and businesses outside of the 1/2-mile radius may resume normal travel, but should continue to avoid the area around 15 Church Street.
Emergency crews remain on scene. More information will be shared as it becomes available.

Shelter-in-Place Advisory – Bergen
A shelter-in-place advisory has been issued for the area around 15 Church Street in Bergen due to a reported hazardous materials leak.
Bergen Fire, the Genesee County Hazmat Team, and Mercy Medic 1 are responding.
Residents in the area should:
Stay indoors
Close all windows and doors
Turn off air conditioners and ventilation systems
Keep pets inside
Avoid the area and allow emergency crews to work
This advisory will remain in effect until emergency officials determine the area is safe.
