Member Spotlight: Dylan Houser, PT, DPT 🌟
AAOMPT Member since 2024

For Dylan Houser, the decision to join AAOMPT began while preparing for his OCS certification.

“About halfway through my OCS prep, I realized I needed a plan to continue my professional growth after the exam was completed.”

Although he didn’t initially have access to a residency program, Dylan knew he wanted to pursue an immersive learning environment that would challenge him clinically while also opening doors to teaching, research, networking, and collaboration.

“A lot of the therapists and educators I looked up to throughout school and my career were Fellows of AAOMPT, so I decided to pursue fellowship training and become an AAOMPT member.”

Currently in fellowship training and practicing in outpatient sports medicine at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Dylan values the collaborative network AAOMPT has provided.

“Fellowship training and AAOMPT membership have connected me with experienced and trusted clinicians I can always reach out to for ideas, guidance, and mentorship.”

What continues to stand out most to Dylan is the culture within AAOMPT.

“The network of like-minded individuals who strive for excellent patient care is a huge draw to membership.”

He appreciates that regardless of professional role—clinician, educator, researcher, or administrator—AAOMPT members remain united around improving patient outcomes and advancing the profession.

Professionally, Dylan is looking forward to several exciting milestones ahead:
• Completing his OMPT Fellowship this December
• Working on two research projects
• Pursuing his first publication
• Attending his first AAOMPT Annual Conference this November
• Presenting at future regional and national conferences

👏 Join us in celebrating Dylan’s commitment to lifelong learning, mentorship, research, and advancing orthopaedic manual physical therapy.

AAOMPT Member for 5 Years

For Osama Imam, the path toward AAOMPT became clear after meeting fellowship-trained physical therapists who demonstrated a remarkable level of excellence.

“When I met fellowship-trained PTs and saw their intelligence, drive for excellence, and passion for the profession, I knew I’d complete a fellowship and join AAOMPT.”

That commitment to growth and professional advancement continues to shape his involvement today.

“To drive the profession forward, I must continue to be an AAOMPT member.”

Based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Osama values the connections and collaboration that come with being part of the AAOMPT community.

“One of the biggest benefits is having access to the Fellow directory and the ability to connect with like-minded professionals.”

Through AAOMPT, Osama remains connected to clinicians who share a passion for advancing orthopaedic manual physical therapy and improving patient care through excellence in practice and lifelong learning.

Member Spotlight: Maggie Henjum, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT 🌟
AAOMPT Member for 10+ Years

For Maggie Henjum, the decision to join AAOMPT came from witnessing excellence in action.

“The moment I decided to become an AAOMPT member was the moment I saw some of the biggest and best people in our profession helping patients at the highest level — and attributing so much of that growth, skill, and community back to AAOMPT.”

That inspiration came from her professor at the University of Colorado PT program, Paul Mintken.

“I remember thinking, ‘I want to be him when I grow up.’”

Today, Maggie continues to return to AAOMPT because of the people and the shared mission that unites the profession.

“This is a place where people truly care about education, bettering our profession, and ultimately improving care for patients. At its core, that is what AAOMPT is about: the simplicity and power of great patient care.”

Based in Minneapolis, Maggie is the owner of Motion clinics, where AAOMPT continues to shape how she practices, leads, and teaches.

“AAOMPT taught me to stay humble in my thinking, ask better questions, know when I’m wrong, challenge myself, support students, and give back to the profession.”

Most recently, Maggie and her team launched an internal residency program designed to support clinicians and students in the next phase of their professional growth.

“In many ways, I stitched together the lessons, mentorship, and values I’ve gained through AAOMPT and the colleagues who helped form me.”

👏 Join us in celebrating Maggie’s commitment to mentorship, leadership, education, and advancing patient-centered care.
