Elizabeth Taylor established The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF) in 1991 to raise funds and awareness to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS, and to provide assistance for those living with the virus. With its focus on direct care and prevention education, ETAF funds AIDS organizations throughout the world, providing support services to populations most in need. The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (1) supports organizations delivering direct care and services to people living with HIV/AIDS, and (2) supports organizations that provide education to the public regarding the AIDS virus and the prevention of AIDS. ETAF supports existing organizations and entities that have exhibited integrity in managing their operations along with the knowledge and ability to expediently provide services or achieve other designated goals.

On this National Day of Action to End Violence Against Women Living with HIV, we honor the unwavering resilience and advocacy of our members, who work every day to end HIV stigma, challenge HIV criminalization, and stop domestic and intimate partner violence.

Women living with HIV face unique risks of HIV criminalization, especially from intimate partners weaponizing their status, so Positive Women's Network - USA established this awareness day in 2014.

In this video, Julie breaks the silence and empowers others to push back against stigma and unfounded accusations. No woman should have to fear her health status being used as a tool of control or violence. 💜

For women living with HIV, gender-based violence can create additional barriers to safety, health, and care. We recognize that a day like today, National Day of Action to End Violence Against Women, is imperative in addressing and ending the continued issue of gender-based violence.

For years, we’ve worked alongside DG Murray Trust and the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project to support organizations tackling these issues through the Sukuthula Initiative.

This multi-year initiative invests in community-led efforts addressing the interconnected challenges of HIV and gender-based violence, helping provide organizations with the resources and support they need to continue this vital work.

It’s National Latinx HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the impact of HIV in Hispanic and Latinx communities.

Hundreds of thousands of people in these communities continue to face stigma shaped by fear and misinformation.

Today, we’re raising awareness to remind those affected that they are not alone. HIV can be managed, and with proper care and treatment, they can live long, healthy lives.

When talking about HIV transmission through s*x, undetectable = untransmittable.

Thanks to advancements in science, sustained antiretroviral treatment (ART) has made it possible to lower the viral load in people living with HIV to undetectable levels.

Studies show that those with undetectable levels of HIV pose no risk in transmitting the virus to their partners.
