A 2023 clinical study in Japan evaluated MUSE® (Multilineage Stress Enduring) stem cells in five patients with sporadic ALS, which accounts for 90–95% of ALS cases.

Patients received six treatments per month for one year.

By the end of the study:
• 3 of 5 patients experienced a slowing of disease progression.
• No patients died during the one-year study period.
