🌟 MEET THE TEAM: JAMES “JIMBO” CARINIO JR. 🌟

Meet Jimbo, our dedicated Peer Support & Program Development Manager at Synergy Healthcare!

For the past 2 years and 4 months, Jimbo has been bringing his experience, compassion, and understanding to those he serves. His background includes 3 years as Director of Operations for a Counseling Center and 10 years as a District Supervisor for Louisiana Rehabilitation Services.

Jimbo was inspired to pursue this work to bring hope to those living with Substance Use Disorder, using his own shared and lived experiences to help others work toward successful personal outcomes.

What can patients expect from Jimbo? Someone who is approachable, easy to talk to, judgment-free, and a great listener. ❤️

And when he’s not at work, Jimbo enjoys collecting comic books and spending time with his beloved Chihuahua, Bella. 🐶 His favorite part of the morning? When Bella rolls over and asks for a belly rub before he heads to work!

August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day—a day to remember the lives lost, support those affected, and remind our communities that overdose is preventable and recovery is possible.

In 2026, IOAD marks 25 years of remembrance and action.

🌟 MEET THE TEAM: DR. WEISS 🌟

We’re excited to introduce Harlan Weiss, MD, an experienced internal medicine physician bringing more than 30 years of clinical expertise to the Synergy Healthcare team.

Dr. Weiss earned his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Highland Hospital in California. After retiring from the VA hospital system, he chose to continue doing what he does best—providing thoughtful, patient-focused care.

Known for his thorough evaluations and attention to detail, Dr. Weiss takes the time to listen and ensure each patient’s concerns are fully addressed. His approach to care reflects a commitment to treating every patient with the time, respect, and attention they deserve.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Weiss is a devoted father and grandfather who values family and lifelong learning.
