What does good versus bad play look like in a child’s world?

In play therapy, it might look like superheroes defeating monsters, good guys rescuing while bad guys get caught and punished.

Through these moments, children explore cooperation or conflict, fairness or frustration, connection or disconnection, safety, rules, power, and the impact of their choices on others.

Every choice tells a story, and the child gets to “write it” how they choose.

A great resource and opportunity for parents to learn more!💙

As parents and caregivers, it can be hard to know what to say or do when your child’s feelings seem to take over.

Join us for When Big Feelings Take Over: What to Do in the Moment—a practical, play-therapist-informed workshop designed to help parents feel more confident navigating challenging moments while strengthening connection and building emotional regulation over time.

You’ll learn how to:
✨ Recognize the difference between dysregulation and disrespect
✨ Understand what may be happening underneath challenging behavior
✨ Know what to say—and what *not* to say—when emotions are high
✨ Understand why consequences can sometimes backfire in the moment
✨ Reconnect, repair, and teach after the storm has passed

We plan to continue to expand this workshop series. As this is our initial event, we are offering participants an introductory rate to begin gaining tools in their parenting toolbox. 💙

💛 Repetitive play is meaningful.

When a child plays out the same story or reaches for the same toys again and again, they're often processing experiences, building mastery, and making sense of big emotions.

In Child-Centered Play Therapy, we trust the process. Healing doesn't always look like change—it often begins with repetition. 🌱

Today, on International Day of Play, let's celebrate the power of play as a child's natural language and an essential part of healthy development. Whether it's building forts, creating art, pretending to be superheroes, or simply laughing together, play helps children develop confidence, connection, creativity, and emotional well-being.

Take time today to follow a child's lead, join in their world, and remember: play is learning and healing.

💛 Every child deserves time, space, and opportunities to play.

What does nurturing look like in a child’s world?

In play therapy, it might be caring for a baby doll, preparing pretend meals, offering comfort to a toy, or creating spaces where everyone belongs.

Through these moments, children explore connection or avoidance, empathy or conflict, and the experience of being cared for or neglected.

Every choice tells a story, and the child gets to "write it" how they choose.

Swipe to discover the many ways children express and experience nurturing through play.

Every toy has a purpose. In the child centered playroom, children explore relationships, practice problem-solving, express emotions, and tell their stories—one play session at a time. 🧸✨

AND... the toys aren't the therapy—the play is. Toys simply give children a language they already know how to speak. 💬🧸
