DJF Nutrition accepts insurance 🙌🏼🥰

Since the start of my private practice I have always wanted to have an insurance-based model to improve access to registered dietitian services.

Often a barrier to working with dietitian is the price of services, but most of insurances do cover dietitian visits with no or a a small co-pay!

Dietitians are not only trained in the science of improving health/managing diseases, but also in the art of counseling. Both specialties are needed to help you be successful in your goals and this isn’t happening in a rushed 10 minute visit like when you see your P*P!

I am accepting new patients so reach out today for your free discovery call (link in bio) to learn more about services and get you enrolled as a new patient! Morning, afternoon and evening appointments are available. While we are based in Brookline, we are able to see patients via telehealth in CT, MA and NH. All appointments are telehealth to help fit them into your busy schedule.

Specialty areas include:
•Weight loss
•Oncology
•Cardiac health
•Diabetes prevention & management
•General health optimization.

Don’t see your insurance? Reach out to your plan as they may still cover out of network providers! Private pay also continues to be available.

📆A great first step in taking charge of your health is making sure that you are adding movement breaks and meal breaks to your schedule (I’m talking about it actually being a meeting in your calendar!!

One of the most common things my clients tell me is that they do not have time to exercise meal prep or eat because of their busy schedules. In our culture that pushes the constant hustle this isn’t surprising, but this deprioritizes your health!

I help my clients look for pockets that are realistic and ideally paired with an activity that they’re already doing! This could be doing meal prep during the time you are watching a show or exercising while your kids are at their sports practices or swapping screen time for a meal!

Plus, our meetings helped to keep you accountable and are covered by your insurance!

🤔A healthy weight looks different for everyone and that is why it’s so important to get personalized healthcare!

Focusing on outdated metrics like ideal, body weight or BMI miss the mark when it comes to helping someone actually improve their health!

but also focusing on specifically trying to get to a certain number is also not putting your overall health as the priority when it comes to your diet!

As your dietitian, I work with you to figure out what this weight should be and this can be an emotional process which is why working with a registered dietitian whose trained not only in using food as medicine but also counseling is important so we can make sure that any weight loss or lifestyle changes is coming from healthy habits vs restriction.

🍎If dietitians aren’t working with our representatives to protect access to registered dietitians who will?!

The Massachusetts Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (MAND) is doing a lot of work to help support public policy efforts in the state, but we need all dietitians in MA to help strength our call for action!

Advocacy can be as simple as sending an email to your state legislators. They appreciate hearing directly from their constituents and learning about issues important to them.
Please use this Google form to indicate your interest and we will send you emails to personalize and send to your legislators when it is time to make our voices heard.
