October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we wanted to take this opportunity to bring our community together for a conversation about something that touches so many of us: breast health.

For our next HER Talk, Sue will be joined by Ashley of Ashley’s Lingerie & Swimwear to chat about getting to know your body, understanding changes in your breasts, the importance of, and finding a bra that fits and feels right.

We hope you’ll leave feeling a little more informed, supported, and confident in caring for yourself.

✨ Your $10 ticket includes conversation, small bites, and samples!

Nothing brings people together quite like a warm bowl of soup! 🥣

Last week, YA members gathered for a ‘Soup for the Soul’ Cooking Class! We spent time together in the kitchen learning new skills, trying out some healthy (& quick) soup recipes, and connecting with one another over shared experiences!

Thanks to HER Kitchen for hosting us! 🩵

Knowing where you’re rooted and finding the strength to keep growing. That’s what inspired our design for this year’s HER Story Bra Crawl!

The Bra Crawl brings our local business community together to raise money and awareness for two amazing breast cancer organizations that support women right here in WNY - Hope Chest Buffalo + Breast Cancer Network of WNY - with businesses decorating bras that represent their businesses.

Bras will be on display at businesses on Hertel, Elmwood, in East Aurora and in Williamsville throughout October, and you can help choose your favorite by voting at the link in our bio.

A little fall has arrived at HER Kitchen. 🍂

Tomorrow Creekside Flowers will be here with farm fresh flowers, pumpkins, flower-covered witch’s brooms, and pumpkins on a stick - and we will our very favorite stuffed dates ((and possibly a new item of two!!))

Two new-ish combinations to try: cashew butter with rose, cardamom + Bolivian rose salt, and almond butter with Chinese five spice + almond dust.

No fresh bread tomorrow from Ashley Smith, but there’s a freezer full of her loaves at half off — so this is your sign to stock up.

Last call for tomatoes. 🍅

And last chance to join us Tuesday night for Market to Table: Tomato Party at HER Kitchen.

We’re making the most of one of our favorite parts of the season — cooking with the tomatoes while they’re still everywhere at the market and at their absolute best.

A little cooking, a lot of tasting, a beautiful meal around the table + a few new ways to bring that summer tomato magic home.

Tuesday, September 15 | 6–8 PM

A few spots are still open — head over to HER calendar to join us 🍅

There are still a few spots left for tomorrows Market to Table: Cooking with the Season 🌽🍅

This is honestly my favorite class to teach because I don’t decide the menu until the day before. I head to the farmers market, see what looks best, and let the season decide what we’re cooking.

And right now? Peak summer is giving us SO much to work with — sweet corn, fresh beans, sun-ripened tomatoes, herbs, and an abundance of beautiful local vegetables.

We’ll take those simple, familiar ingredients and learn how to make them feel really special — layering flavors with acids, herbs, spices and texture, while keeping everything balanced and approachable.

You’ll leave with:
🌿 Techniques for creating vibrant summer dishes
🌽 Confidence cooking with peak-season produce
🍅 Ideas for elevating everyday ingredients
🥕 Tips for shopping, storing & using farmers market finds
👩‍🍳 Seasonal recipes you’ll actually want to make at home

And because the menu is inspired by what’s freshest at the market, every class is a little different.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, now’s the time. There are still tickets available!

Come cook with the season at HER Kitchen. 🤍
