as an MPH, I've always kept an eye on public health matters. this concern over valley health is local (nearby in Wi******er) and the growth of private equity in hospitals means that doctors are forced to prioritize efficiency over patient needs. Which is tough, particularly for complex patients.

can microwaving lower fodmap levels?
the tl;dr:
yes, somewhat.
1) you need to use water, and discard it
2) 3 minutes is ideal
3) the amount of lowering differs by food....many foods are still fodmap. for example, apples didn't lower as much in fodmap.

very exciting news for people with Celiac!
the TL;DR:
The Celiac Safety Act will protect individuals with Celiac Disease by:
Requiring any product containing wheat, barley, or rye to list “gluten-containing grains” as a major allergen.
Provide an 18-month implementation window for the FDA and manufacturers.
Note: proposed to Congress, not yet passed, needs sponsors, but a solid step in the right direction. If you have contacts, you know what to do!

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, during Celiac Disease Awareness Month, U.S. Representatives Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) and Betty McCollum (D-MN) introduced the Celiac Safety Act to strengthen food labeling law and protect the roughly 3 million Americans with Celiac Disease.
