MY STORY: I grew up in south Boston (Marshfield) Massachusetts until I was 18 and went on to go to Virigina Tech University (Blacksburg, VA) - Go Hokies! I studied for 5 years to get my accreditation to become a Dietitian. In that time, I also worked as a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, served as the President of the Student Dietetics + Nutrition Club, was a Sorority member of Alpha Phi, and also served many other jobs around town (nutrition counseling, bartending, teaching yoga, working at the farmers market). Between semesters of school, I would either work various jobs in the summer but also did a study abroad one summer in Italy and France related to nutrition abroad, I worked at a medical facility in Uganda Africa, and I also went to Seattle to complete my 200 Hour Yoga Cert. In 2013, after graduating with a major in Dietetics as well as Exercise and Health Promotion, I moved to Chicago to do my 9 month internship at Ingalls Memorial Hospital. After completing my internship, I passed my boards and became a Registered Dietitian in 2014! From there, I went on to work with Joe Cross, film producer, wellness celebrity and most well-known for his first film, Fat Sick and Nearly Dead. I worked as Joe's personal nutritionist and Executive Assistant traveling around the USA and around the world internationally for his 2nd film tour as well as his 2nd book tour - it was amazing and I am so grateful for that year! I still work with Joe's company, Reboot With Joe in doing their Guided Reboots! In 2015, I met a charmer, Dan Niehaus, skiing up in Vermont... 6 months later he got a job in Cincinnati, OH and so I decided to stop working for Joe and moved to Cincinnati with Dan. Prior to moving to Cincinnati in the 1 month between leaving working with Joe, I traveled to India for a 5-week yoga program receiving an additional 200 hour training in Vinyasa and Hatha. Now, here in Cincinnati, Dan proposed and we will be getting married in September 2017. Since moving to Cincinnati, I have started my private practice, Kristen DeAngelis Wellness. I also work at TriHealth kenwood womens center - seeing patients at an outpatient center and TriHealth Pavilion teaching weight management classes and cooking workshops. In Cincinnati, I also teach yoga at The Yoga Bar, I am the dietitian at Mission 5 Fitness and I work with Scripps digital company called SimpeMeals in doing some contract work in developing meal plans. I also still work with Reboot With Joe guiding Guided Reboots as well as work for Shea Training, a student-athlete sports training facility in Boston where I do their nutrition programming and social media. Overall, I love love love what I do and I am always aiming to help support those that are looking for ways to improve their lives whether it be improved nutrition, increased self-awareness, or just feeling better overall through a holistic approach. I hope to spread the word of good nutrition and the other important facets that incorporate into a healthy mind, body and spirit.

57% of semen samples tested came back positive for glyphosate?! At levels 4x higher than what was found in the men’s blood. 😳

That’s ONE toxin. And when I run Total Tox panels, what comes back isn’t rare... it’s becoming the NORM.

Atrazine. Glyphosphate. BPA. Mycotoxins. PFAS. I’m regularly finding several of these stacked at once.

This isn’t about fear, it’s about KNOWING what’s driving the numbers on a semen analysis, and what to do about it!

When someone comes in and their house is BURNING DOWN (aka their gut is a mess, hormones all over the place, struggling with fertility or anxiety/depression, chronic fatigue/low energy, maybe they’ve got autoimmune or chronic virus over activating…. Just eating the same broccoli every single day probably isn’t going to cut it.

As a functional RD & coach, I have 3 types of people when the start with me…

1) those who show up with a pharmacy cabinet and 45 supplements… they’ve never give their body a break in 5 years 😵 (ill usually cut what their taking in half)

2) those who say …. Idk I got this because my friend is taking/tik tok told me/it was BOGO at the grocery… quality is questionable.. 🥴 (I try and educate why these might not be so helpful as they thought)

3) those who don’t take anything and don’t understand why… very skeptical and yet they are literally an autoimmune fatigue hormone mess…

Wherever you are on the spectrum above, here’s what I have to say on supplements

- quality MATTERS. Sourcing MATTERS. 3rd party testing & assay MATTERS. stop shopping at the grocery for your medical grade supplements. Fullscript is my trusted shop of choice (comment fullscript and I’ll send you the link)

- supplementation is essentially concentrated food

- before the medical empire began in the early 1900s, apothecary herbs and integrative treatments were the go to for ailments… this isn’t quackery. It’s literally what we’ve done our entire biological existence

- you probably shouldn’t be in the same supplement forever. Cycling is always a great rule of thumb.

- if you’re house is on fire,. You probably need an abundance of extra nutrients herbs etc. and once the fire is calm then you can probably dose down to the essentials - multi, vitamin d, fish oil, creatine.

- you can never ever out supplement out medicate out peptide a bad diet and lifestyle. Biology WILL catch up with you.

Love it or leave it, supplements are part of a healing protocol (with food & lifestyle) I recommend when we need to do some heavy lifting.

It was who asked me recently “well when are your CEO days?” Ya the days you non traditionally are working ON The business not in the business. How are you allowing your creation and visions and building your next chapter to come to life? Yes there’s time and place for getting in the systems and operations. But if we’re not doing more of THIS. this is the heart. This is the space this is what breathes life into everything I do. So yes, this is part of my CEO day.

Fridays are sacred.

Reconditioning the way the world and previous ways of doing things. That’s not the only way to do things :)

Also shoutout to my friend who when you know you know 🤣 aka I was like oh - we’re going to be friends. Our toddlers are the same age and besties at daycare. Our second babies are 8 months apart. And we’re in similar stage of life with a lot of crazy experiences in our back (learned just a TASTE of what mountaineering guiding is like and what this wild badass women used to do. Wildness. And now we’re here. And couldn’t be HAPPIER!

“I was a mess.

I had been to multiple doctors. I’d gone through extensive testing. DUTCH test, stool test, SIBO test, I had been positive for. I tried protocols, elemental diet TWICE... if you know what that is, you know that it is absolute hell.😫😫

I had severe, ongoing symptoms of extreme fatigue, significant weight gain.

I had been a competitive athlete and was now unable to complete things that in the past had been incredibly easy.

But really, beyond the physical symptoms, I was significantly depressed, even though my life was pretty wonderful. I was so unwell. I felt so unlike myself and so disappointed and frustrated with not having answers when I knew that something was wrong.😩

The number of WINS that I’ve had with Kristen is hard to count. Most of my symptoms have gone away, but the biggest change has been that I feel like I have my personality back for the first time in years.

I have clarity of mind, of spirit. I have energy to do the things that I want to do. I feel hopeful. I have a diagnosis and an actual treatment plan with medications that are really helping.

Working with Kristen was a very different process than working with a doctor. I got consistent, supportive care. She helped me get the right testing, & that’s really what led to the right diagnosis and then treatment.

I felt extremely held in my suffering.

I was with a partner that was very sweet but didn’t understand. it’s hard. It’s hard to describe to friends & family what’s going on. having someone who really understands and was able to hold hope & continually push me towards getting better saved my life.”

Abi came to me on her 5th round of ABX for recurrent SIBI in the middle of her 2nd elemental diet.. we started calming her system building up beneficial, bacteria, and layering in antimicrobial support for dysbiosis alongside testing to rule out viral triggers - Lyme EBV, CMV that often drive this kind of fatigue. We strategically layered nutrition supps anti inflamm pepps support. She’s now off adderol, no more bloat, great energy, exercise tolerance & she has her personality back. So happy for this incredible hum

You fee like it’s random but typically there is a trigger …. We may have not been able to pin point it….. when The migraine hits. Or the flushing. Or the anxiety or bloating that makes no sense. And you’ve been told it’s “just hormones” so many times you almost believed it.

It’s not JUST hormones. It’s histamine, and your cycle/ovulation or fluctuations in your cycle is the trigger nobody explained to you.

Here’s what’s actually happening: estrogen triggers histamine release. Histamine triggers more estrogen. When one spikes, so does the other, and in the days around ovulation and in your luteal phase, that loop runs hot and your symptoms are the result.

There’s tools for WHAT to do… but most certainly identifying when, how often, severity and root cause behind it is everything. Paths lead back to the gut so start here and later in your tools.

Comment TRACKER below and I’ll send you the symptom tracker I use to identify if histamine is spiking around your cycle. 🙌

I literally have a “5am Club” shirt 😂 I WAS that girl. the wake at 4:30am, workout before the day starts and loveee that feeling of already accomplished before anyone else wakes up in the world feeling.

And yeah, I miss it. I miss the runs of cool air w no cars around. Birds just waking up.

And with my 1st baby, I would get her up & wed go to the gym for 6:30am class. But honestly it was tough to have her ready and me ready

Now with 2, with my husband out of the house at 5am, with a baby who still sleeps next to us in our room & wakes at least 3x … ya 5am runs and classes just isn’t the season I’m in right now.

And that’s OKAY.

It doesn’t mean I don’t prioritize my workouts. It just means it’s not at the time I used to. (I’ll get back there but right now - the most valuable thing I’ll never get back is toddler and baby snuggles - where it’s just the 3 of us waking up together, where we squeeze each other, we take a moment before the hustle bustle to get to breakfast/clothes/occasional blow out or unexpected xyz and daycare by 8

Being able to adapt. Reminding ourself and asking “what is actually most important in how I want to use this time right now?” And reminding ourself - there are seasons. What does this season look like for me?

So if you’re comparing yourself to others. Shoulds are s**t. Do what intuitively and instinctively fuels your soul. You’re doing great ❤️

If you feel worse around ovulation or right before your period bloated, anxious, itchy, headachy… it’s not random.

I cannot tell you how many women come to me convinced they have allergies, anxiety, or just “bad PMS” and what we actually find when we dig deeper is a histamine issue that has been running completely unchecked, perfectly timed to their cycle.

Here’s the connection no one explained to you:

Estrogen triggers histamine release. And histamine, in turn, stimulates more estrogen production. When estrogen rises at ovulation and again in the luteal phase, histamine rises with it and for women who are already dealing with high histamine load or poor histamine clearance, this is when everything falls apart.

Headaches. Bloating. Skin flares. A racing heart. Sneezing for no reason. Anxiety that came out of nowhere.

Patterns have root causes.

Swipe through for the 5 signs your histamine is spiking with your cycle and save this, because this is one of those posts you’ll want to come back to when the symptoms show up again next month.
