There's a lot of talk right now about mindset and resilience. Most of it lives in positive psychology.

Through my work, I've come to see that as one piece of something larger โ€” what I call integrated resilience. It's zooming out. Seeing the whole picture: spirit, body, and mind together, not just the mind alone.

Your body doesn't talk with words. It talks with feelings. ๐Ÿ’œ

Most of us live in the mind. Thinking about what we feel instead of actually feeling it.

Tammy invites a different approach: get quiet. Turn in. Become the observer of your own body. Not to analyze what's there, but to listen to its wisdom. Your body has its own language, sensation, feeling, and it's been speaking to you all along.

Sometimes that's a sensation. Sometimes it's a name you can put to what you're feeling. The more specific you can get, the more it opens up for you.

This is the starting point for everything Tammy teaches. Before the tools, before the techniques, there's this: reconnecting to your body, your intuition, your True Self.

Spirit, body, mind. ๐Ÿ’œ

There is one baseline for every single thing Tammy teaches. It starts with the simple act of getting quiet, turning in, and connecting with your True Self. Being the observer. Scanning your body.

How are you feeling? What are your thoughts?

The more granular you can get in naming it, the more empowering it becomes.

But the invitation here is to move beyond the mind and into the body, the wisdom that lives there. To listen to the way your body talks. Not with words. With feelings.

Spirit, body, mind. This is the foundation everything else builds on.

During a session, I had the most beautiful transmission of what a mother is, what it's been, and how it's transitioning. I saw a clear picture of a lotus floating in a pond that was stagnant and full of sludge, all of the trauma and unprocessed experience that women have carried across all times and places. As the lotus cleaned the water and it became crystal clear, there was one part that wasn't cleaning out: the distortions we hold around what it means to be a mother.

All mothers are like that lotus plant, and all the children we've had, and our ancestors have had, their root systems are bound to the root system of that one mother plant. All life, all responsibility, all consequence resides there. And it goes both ways; the lessons and learnings of the children feed back into the plant, and it's our responsibility to hold those, to process those, to care for those.

In society, it's like a mother cannot do anything right. It's so complex how we create structure and boundaries between who we are and who our kids are, what our responsibilities are and what theirs are.

What came through today was untangling each root gently and carefully, placing it into the ground, and allowing it to be independent.

This brought forth a vision of the mycelia network that runs through a forest floor, connecting all the plants in love and light, allowing them to remain connected without needing to be bound. That is what we as mothers can build with our children. ๐Ÿค

We covered a lot. My adoption story, why talk therapy never touched my root cause, how trauma gets passed down through generations, and why our bodies hold onto what we don't process.

A moment frozen in time. ๐Ÿค

Standing in the Rotunda at Union Terminal with my friend Stacy โ€” this space where history breathes through the walls, where refugees and survivors once passed through seeking safety and new life.

This is where we stood the night of the Upstander Awards, the night I sat hand-in-hand with Tova Friedman and heard her say: "If I don't tell my story, who will?"

Some moments don't need many words. This was one of them.

(If you missed the full story from that night, it's on my page โ€” go watch ๐ŸŽฅ)

On June fourteenth, I stepped into the Rotunda at Union Terminal in Cincinnatiโ€”that vast, breathtaking space where history breathes through the walls, where art and time hold each other. This is where refugees and Holocaust survivors once passed through, seeking safety and new life. And on that evening, it held space for something sacred: the Upstander Awards, a ceremony honoring people whose courage and character strengthen our community.

And we listened. Her mother's words echoed in the room: Remember. Don't forget us.
After the ceremony, I sat with her, held her hand, and looked deeply into her eyes. I thanked her for her courage. She looked at me and said simply: I don't have a choice. If I don't tell everyone these things, who will? It must be me.

Her refusal to let the world forget is a call to all of us. To turn inward and ask: What are we carrying that we've forgotten? What ancestral traumas live inside usโ€”perpetuating mistruths and hatred we don't even see anymore?

This is where energy medicine becomes essential. When we heal these wounds, we create safety in our own bodies. We remember who we actually are. Upstanding is not a calling or a badge to wear. It is who we are.

Have you ever noticed how certain themes just keep showing up?
In yourself. In the people around you. In the people you serve.
That's not a coincidence โ€” that's an invitation to look deeper.

Everything we face is like a gem with multiple facets. Even the things that don't look like help... are here to help us.

Even self-sabotage.

For the first 28 years of my life, I looked for healing everywhere the world told me to look. Meditation tapes, self-help books, religion, talk therapy, medication, exercise, relationships. Nothing touched the primal wounds I carried as an adoptee โ€” the invisible ones, the ones that lived beneath the surface of every good intention and every genuine effort.

Then I found energy-based healing. Specifically, ThetaHealingยฎ. For the first time, something touched it. Understood it. Began to heal it.

That was 2014.

What followed was a decade of deep personal healing โ€” 19 classes over 7 years, not because I was collecting certifications, but because the classes were the only place she could practice. In between, her community tried to recreate that space on their own. It fell apart quickly. Without a teacher, without structure, without commitment โ€” it couldn't hold.

Eventually I found a small group of committed healers. Who showed up for each other weekly. The breakthroughs reached new depths. The healing expanded to levels I hadn't reached in years of classes alone.

I knew then that I was not alone in this. In my first weekend healing intensives, students asked for it consistently โ€” a place to continue, to practice, to stay connected. So I stopped teaching until I could build what was missing: a teacher-guided, weekly practice space. An ecosystem of ongoing learning, connection, and embodiment.

That is RISE. Not a program you complete. A practice you live.

Self-sabotage is the villain. Until it isn't.
What if the patterns blocking you are actually trying to protect you?
