Lawson’s bone marrow is CANCER FREE and 100% genetically James Michael’s donor cells!! God is so good and we give Him all the glory for this amazing news of continued remission today!

This was Lawson’s LAST planned bone marrow biopsy!! He’s had over 20 bone marrow biopsies in the last 5 years and although he’s learned to handle them so well, he’s ecstatic to be in a place where they are no longer necessary. We will continue his regular clinic visits/labs every 3 months and he will continue with the specialty doctors that monitor his growth and development. His heart and lungs will need to be continually monitored for late term effects of treatment, but that will become less frequent moving forward. Lawson will also be seen in the Survivor Clinic for the first time this year!!

We will never be able to express how much we appreciate all of the prayers, love, and support we have received on this journey over the last 5 years. From our amazing doctors, nurses, and everyone in our Ochsner Family to each and every person that has prayed for Lawson and our family…..we have truly been blessed to have you with us in the highest of highs and in the lowest of lows. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and continued prayers!!

Tomorrow is Lawson’s 13th birthday! We truly have so much to celebrate with our happy, healthy teenager this weekend…and every single day! Thank you, God!! 🙏🏻❤️

Please say a prayer for Lawson’s bone marrow biopsy today! We are praying for healthy, cancer free bone marrow that remains 100% genetically James Michael’s donor cells.

Lawson’s test results from last week show healthy labs, healthy lungs, and a healthy heart. We are grateful for the good news we have received so far and praying for continued remission! Thank you so much for praying with us! 🙏🏻❤️

We will begin Lawson’s 3 year post bone marrow transplant testing tomorrow morning, July 22nd. Tomorrow will be filled with cardiac testing, pulmonary function tests, and labs.

Lawson’s bone marrow biopsy is scheduled for next Friday, July 31st.

These milestone tests carry so much weight and so many emotions and your continued prayers mean so very much to us! We will keep everyone posted once we receive all test results. 🙏🏻❤️

Lawson had his 3 month check-up this week and we are praising God for healthy reports from his team! Labs and growth are all where they need to be…and if he keeps growing at this rate, he’s going to start passing some of us up soon! Lawson is overjoyed that he received medical clearance to start Spring football with his junior high team for the upcoming school year!! “Little things” like this mean the world to a kid who has missed out on so much and is finally able to keep up with his peers and just be a kid!! God is so good!!!!

Lawson will return to clinic in 3 months for his 3 year post transplant testing and bone marrow biopsy. We will keep everyone posted once it gets closer and the date is confirmed. Your continued prayers still fill our hearts with so much comfort and we are forever grateful for each and every one of them! 🙏🏻❤️

Lawson’s first clinic visit of the year went great! His labs and growth all look good and we are so grateful to be almost 2 1/2 years post transplant. Getting high fives from his oncologist for not stalking MyChart or calling the on call team in a panic with “normal kid stuff” lately….is another reminder of how far we’ve come! There is forever a special place in our hearts for his amazing team and we could not be more thankful for their love, support, and care! We got emotional when talking about “cutting the chord” from them a little more in the coming year, but PRAISE GOD to be able to even discuss these future plans! 🙌🏻

2025 brought 2 full years of remission, the completion of childhood immunizations post transplant, ended the need for all cancer medication, decreased the frequency of oncology labs and visits to every 3 months, and planned his last PET scan. The last year brought so much healing and so much joy! We are learning to give Lawson more freedom and space to just be a kid, who already had to grow up entirely too fast. Our perspective on so much has been forever changed and we are reminded daily how important the little things in life really are. We find hope, joy, and gratitude in each and every day and pray that 2026 meets us all with continued health and happiness! Thank you for continuing to pray with us along this journey. 🙏🏻❤️
